Its not only about the intensity of the problem, wisdom of the person in chair and his way of looking at the problem may also change the way in which it was being tackled till now.

Being the PM & shouldering the responsibility of the Finance Deptt. is no easy task. You need a full-time finance minister. The next cabinet reshuffle is due soon, & there's talk of Chidambaram getting the post. Wait & watch.

Manmohan Singh is quite an icon considering the fact that he had pulled back India from the economic crisis of 1991-92 and his economic reforms had managed to put India on the road to development. So he is an ideal choice to head the finance ministry again in this crisis.But what remains to be seen is how he is going to manage the work pressure and handle such an important portfolio along with the PM duties!!!

Haha I am not sure which joint do you smoke but i want it. He was made PM at the directions of IMF and he did nothing except for what PVN Rao directed him to do. MMS's appointment had to do with to ensure that India takes financial measures which suit the IMF and ofcourse US. MMS had no role to play in financial recovery, as no matter how much you laud it, India was forced by the Foundation to take loan on its gold reserves, it wasn't a master stroke at all by the so called "economist".

Please don't quote what TOI and Ndtv have been ranting. He is neither a PM material nor an FM. At best he can be in the advisory panel but thats it.

When he was re-elected he promised he'll revive the economy in 100 days..And India is still waiting for it!It's a tough task now as everything is messed up badly.
