Hello everybody. I have recently been offered admission at Tulane for full-time MBA. I thought this would be a good place to connect with my potential class-fellows. I still haven't paid the commitment fee and am looking to gather more data on placements in particular before I make the final decision.
Lets discuss the school and New Orleans here!

Hey Sam,
I too received an admit from Freeman full time MBA with scholarship. I have to an extent decided to join Freeman as scholarship offered is too good to refuse. That said, I believe Freeman school has a very good reputation in Southern region. If you are planning to specialize in finance then a course named "Burkenroad Reports" will be perfect. Also, Freeman's finance has been ranked among top 10 in 2008 by FT. Living costs in New Orleans are pretty low when compared with other cities' living costs. Freeman also offers a course called "Global Leadership". As part of this course, students travel to three global locations to gain insights into global business.
Thanks,
Varun Jaswal

Hi Varun,
Thanks for all the information. I have also been researching and have come across these positives. I also believe I will most probably not get this good an offer of scholarship from anywhere else even if I do get accepted. Will wait for other university decisions anyway, before accepting the offer from Tulane. I am very happy with the scholarship offer myself. It is impossible to finance a two-year MBA from the US otherwise. The tuition fees are so high!
I hope we get a few more Tulane applicants on this thread. Would be nice.

Hi Samra,
I believe we both are travelling in same boat. I too am waiting for other universities but think that financing would be a major hurdle.
Tulane admits: Please share your thoughts.
Thanks,

Hi All,
I also have an admit from Tulane with full schol.

Hi Anindya,
Great to hear that!!!
Have you decided on joining Freeman?
Also, Please share any information about Freeman.
Great to hear from you Anindya :)
Guys, I have ALMOST decided on joining Freeman school. What about you two?
I will pay my commitment fee in a few days.
I got an offer from Simon School as well but its for MS finance with MUCH lesser scholarship.
I think waiting for other schools would be useless because they will surely not offer as much scholarship even if they do accept me and financing is an issue for me.
I am joining Univ of Arizona, Eller. Tulane and Eller were my top choices for their entrepreneurship program with myself in my own start up and would continue post MBA.Tulane and New Orleans (number one city for young entrepreneurs as per under30ceo.com) provide a very exciting combination and this year is special coz this is 100 th year of the Freeman business school. It's finance program is also very well known.
Tulane is surely a great school to be in for fin and entrepreneurship.

All the best to you for Eller! Did you get a nice scholarship from there as well? Just curious 😃
Sam 😃 ofcourse....tulane was my top choice when i was applying especially coz of the city like i mentioned (great opportunities fr entreprenurs post hurricane katrina) but with discussions during interviews, schol offer, their super helpful adcom and their fab entreprenurship program i was allured to join Eller.

Guys,
I am delighted to see some activity on this forum.
I interviewed with Katie Hunter and it was really amazing interviewing with her as I never felt pressure of interview.
I am on wait list of Simon (MBA) and BU (MBA). I have Smeal interview and RICE results due later this month. I do not think I'll get such a generous scholarship offer from any other school. Keeping these things in mind, I am 99% sure that I'll opt for Freeman.
Thanks,
Varun

Same here @ delighted to see some activity.
I wonder where the rest of the candidates/admitted students are. I am so curious to interact with those who applied to, or got accepted at Tulane. Even the facebook page has no real activity except for the page owner. Kinda sad.
have u guys spoken to alum/current students....if not i can email sum relevant contacts to u who u can speak with fr ur queries

I have written to one current student and have heard from him. I intend to get some more info from him though.
I'm sure we'd love to have multiple perspectives 😃 so please do send us the contacts. Does this forum have private message option? I can share my email address.
