Guys Please also indicate your timelines for taking GMAT, your profiles and targetting colleges if possible , as it will help us know each other better.

Hello Sab bathmailer

You have scored 720 in GMAT. Could you tell us how did you prepare your verbal?

@sabbathmailer
I graduated from NITK in 2011, working for an Engg. consulting firm ever since.
Planning to give GMAT in may. might get postponed because of the difficulty in sticking to schedule, hence looking for a study group to share strategies.

Actually I gave it around 4 years back... I am retaking the test after quite some time in a new refreshed format... As far as verbal prep is concerned no specific startegy, refer OGs and manhattan guide should be sufficient.

Second to that. Hectic work schedule does take away most of our prep time. I would suggest regular study maybe daily 30 min during weekdays and around 2-3 hrs in weekends for 4-5 months should augur well... But ultimately one's own comfort in prep time should be considered... BTW akash do let me know which colleges you are targetting?

Guys lets plan the strategy to crack GMAT.....We have few hours(2 to 3 hrs) on weekday to spend.I have started with SC Manhattan. I believe SC and RC will take time.If anybody has plan how to proceed,please let us know.

Yup! strategy is the key, because there is no shortage for material here.........you can find tons of it online, even videos of classes (Manhattan ones) are available,

startegy is imp. to know what to do when, find out strengths - weaknesses and work on them accordingly. As a mandate I bought the OG and gave my diagnostic test, seems that I m terrible at SC, actually verbal altogether so have started with grammar and SC Manhattan. and yeah the volume is huge.

since I am giving GMAT for the first time (and I badly want it to be my last attempt), My aim is not very accurate and research for colls are not very refined!!

but still I have few in mind like Wharton, Browns, HEC paris......
@sabbathmailer How about you? may I know your profile?

lets hope this group grows and we shall have a solid study group!!

@punix1 we can meet up this weekend or next, will decide the venue.
