Hi guys,
Anyone for UC Berkeley???
Didnt see any thread on Berkeley/Haas.....Am planning to apply in R2...might still make an effort for R1..dunno..am still working on the essays!!!!

740/good acads/3 years in manufacturing operations...(the average is 5 years at Haas full time...but am gonna give it a shot this year..lets see!!)

R2 it is for me too, 5 yrs IT exp (2.5 yrs of consulting Aus/Mideast/NA), 710 GMAT.
Not even started with the process yet, so would appriciate a quick primer on what all berkely requires (in terms of docs etc).. have to get started on my essays too.. any constructive feedback / suggestions would be really appriciated. My current location is the USA.

hiiii!!!!
finally someone who is applying!!
well first you should download and send the reco forms to ur recommenders i guess. They require one from ur current supervisor and the next is open.If ur in the US maybe u shud visit Haas..they seem to attach a lot of importance to that....
And grrrr!! international work ex!! i hate people who have that!!!....

Any idea whether Haas waives TOEFL for int students with degree from an institute where medium of instr is english?

Well I have no idea. Have not given TOEFL myself. So I would also be really interested to know. Will do some reading up today and if I find something I will post it.

the haas site says

"Graduates of non-U.S. institutions must also provide one official degree certificate in the original language. English translations are required if the documents are not in English. They must arrive in a sealed envelope as issued by the school"

can anybody clarify what this means ? well does it mean tht we need to apply for another degree Certificate from the University ?

Haas is conducting a chat on 18th. U might want to ask them there..

hiiii...

TOEFL is reqd.
Applicants who received their degrees in countries other than the US, UK, Australia, or English-speaking Canada are required to take the TOEFL exam. This includes applicants with degrees from Bangladesh, Burma, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, and most European countries. Only applicants who have completed a full year of US university-level coursework with a grade of B or better are exempt from this requirement.

And u need to score a min of 68 on the internet based test.

I remember reading somewhr on the site that IELTS is also acceptd even though TOEFL is preferred. But please confirm..

Guyz,

I wanted to know whats the entire course fee at Berkeley.
I was bit confused abt the same. It's mentioned cloase to 60K$ and mentions that it's for the nine month tuition.

Given that it's a 2 year course(FT MBA), does the cost come 120k+$

Or Am I misreading something here??

And also, guys, pls share ur plans for fee payment...loans?scholarships?personal savings?

I can hardly save upto 20k$, so any pointers on financing my MBA?? :(

B/w, I'm a potential 2009 applicant.
And I am going to California shortly, so I mite visit the school.
Any specific queries you have, you can put thm here. I'll try to get the answers whn i'm thr 😃

Hey all,
I am applying to Haas this year as well. I happened to visit the school a month back and attend one of their entrepreneurship events. The deadline seems a hard one to meet, but I'll definitely try and put in my best to meeting it.
All the best to all applicants this year..

heyy did anyone attend the R1 chat on 18th???
was at 4.30 in the morning so slept through it.......and transcripts dont seem to be avl on the site....

Hi,
I applied in Round 1 for HAAS.
Has anyone got an interview call so far?
Its been quite some time now...the ad coms would have returned from their holidays/leaves by now...
Pretty slow process...i guess...

Hello
any one over here got an interview call / admit from Haas ?

Anybody applying for r3?

Any R1 interview calls yet? Is there any point in continuing to wait since the decision's barely over a week away:-(

Hi Guys,

I decided today to apply for R3
For the accomplishment essay, could one make use of a personal rather than a professional experience? If yes, could the experience be from school/college?

Thanks,
Gangadhar

@ Gangurulz - Haas has a lot of essays, and you'd do good by trying to cover as many different aspects of your profile in each of them. So decide on what you answer in each essay, keeping the big picture in mind.

If you can provide professional experiences in other essays, i guess you can balance it out with a personal story in accomplishments (and vice versa, if applicable)

About how old the incident can be, from my study, i've found most suggestions pointing not to go back beyond your college days for these stories.

All the best

Anyone with any luck for R1??

I've applied in R2 and no news yet. Just backtracking from the notification date for R2, still keeping my hopes alive :|

Btw.. any one with R2 interview calls?
