i have left my job and started preparing for gmat. please could you suggest what can i do to improve my profile/resume in the next 1 yesr, for applying in ivy league schools, in terms of extra curricular, pro bono work etc.

1) What are the chances for the deferment?
2)How should I frame the mail that I would send to the admission's committee?
3) If deferred,do I have to pay some fees for reserving my seat for the next year intake?

I am a24F Indian with 3+ years of work ex in IT and Business. My GMAT score is 660 and I want to study MIS from Germany ( preferably a public University). Here is the problem:
1. I cant find a good university that does not require a business subject in undergrad. Almost all the universities I research, they want their applicants to have already studied a business subject in undergrad. I am a computer science graduate . There. Problem.
2. MIS can take either GRE or GMAT.German Universities seem to have a liking for GRE in this case. This has made my list of colleges even smaller. Do you know of a german University that accepts GMAT for MIS? Please comment.
