Should I try and get a 2nd MBA degree from a top B-School outside?
- I earn about 25 LPA a year and am perhaps the youngest guy to to be in my position (Vertical Head - current job) at 25 in the company (which is one of the large conglomerates in the world with about 40 Billion $ in valuation). I have been a product manager (10 Bn $ + company 1st job after MBA - 2 years) and account manager (pre-mba 1 year, very small firm) I have about 3.5 years of work-ex in total. All of it has been in Marketing and mostly Product Management Side. (not an IT guy at all, although I am trying to learn programming now - better late than never)
- I am pretty well versed with the startups in India in the tech space, esp in the Bangalore-Delhi Sector.
- My internships have all been in Brand Management.
- I have a degree from one of the top 15 b-school in India (non-iim), became a MT right out of a college and one of the best performing so.
- I have additional certification from well known pretty well known institutions in Online Marketing and Consulting.
- My CV is academically pretty poor (by today's standards) - 7 CGPA in MBA. Undergraduate from unknown but govt institution in India which is sort of tough to get into in my stream. Also I have been a pure business student after my 12th.
- But my CV has stellar extra-curriculars with both national and international wins.
- Same is true for Social-Work. I used to be pretty involved in social-work before I came to the B-School domain. And I am beginning to start again.
- I also know about 4 musical instruments, have band wins and trying to learn 2 more.
- I may also have a book published by end of 2015 (non-fiction - in talks, can't assure)
- I barely know 1 foreign language (which needs a lot of practice to get back in verbal shape). Tried learning another one, but left it due to ... non-educational physical and mental needs (Ex-Girlfriend/s).
- I have studied in 3 nations during the course of education (pretty short periods - longest being a year)
- My Verbal section has always been 99.9%ile+ range, DI has been in the 85%-90%ile and my Quant has been about 70%-80%ile range.
Does it make sense for me to do this?
What are the odds and what are the typical costs?
I hear 90 Lakh- 1 crore INR to be the full figure - can this figure be considered correct or am I over/under-estimating costs?
I am looking at Harvard, Stanford, Kellogg, Wharton, INSEAD, Sloan.
Not too sure about Booth, LSE/LBS,IESE,HEC
Would be looking at Marketing, Strategy and Consulting roles only after this 2nd MBA. Not very fond of traditional finance. And I am not a Quant lover so...
Also, it seems I am asking for too much given my current Profile? (self-assessment)
Seniors, kindly guide me 😃
