Aspirant008 Says
has anyone applied yet

Hello puys,

I am planning to apply to AIM this year. Has anyone else started working on their apps? How do people, who have GMAT score, will apply? I believe in this case we dont need to send this 2500 draft. Any info on deadlines and application process for AIM?

Today I was thinking of sending my GMAT score to AIM but I noticed something not correct. AIM MBA course is of 16 months but on MBA.com for AIM there is no course listed for category 'MBA - less than 2 years'. However, one course is available for category - 'MBA - 2 or more years'. Any suggestion puys... I dont want to waste my 28$ for any stupid reason

Thanks ..

Hi,
I am planning to apply for AIM this year.
Any idea about their exam format?

last date for asking for application is 13 Nov. So dont be late. Test will be on 6 Dec. I am not sure about the deadline for sending complete application package. I have send a Query to Mr Damodar (AIM India Rep)

Just to let you all know, last date for AIM to receive this is Nov 13th.

Pls see the response from AIM for following queries -

1. I have received the application package. I am in a serious doubt here. What is the last date for you to receive the completed essays, recommendations and other documents? According to the letter (Ref No. - MBA - 2010-11 : 4727) in the application package, last date is 30th November 2009. But on a other document, which you sent in your last email and which had the details for how to receive the application package, the last date is 31st December, 2009. >>>> 1. If the documents are ready you may it submit early. The deadline is 31st Dec.

2. You have asked for sending 2 copies of GMAT score card. Do you not need it throughmba.com? >>>> 2. There is no need to send the GMAT score directly. We just need the copy of the GMAT report with the filled in application.

please pardon my ignorance...what is this MM program all about??
1. Is it a flagship program of AIM
2. Is it a 1 year program
3. What is the total cost involved(including living expense)

My profile:
680/IT/10 yr work exp

it is a 16 months course , in fact in reality around 15 months.

60 pc of present batch placed is a blatant lie. the only company which has hired till now is CTS which makes the % as around 16% . add few more which have got the job through their personal contacts and this makes the number to 20%. Please don't come to AIM if you are coming for placements. Learning is good but placements no no .

yep.. Thats true. Only CTS has come there as of todya.

One current MBA student told me that if I am planning to attend MBA at AIM, I should be ready to be jobless for a few months and also should plan those months financially. I dont know but placement in any top 15 Indian B school is far better than this.

What is the last date to apply via GMAT score

Hi
I am really late in the game here .....
but I had sent an email to Damodar (Mumbai Coordinator for AIM) asking him about a couple of general information ...
He indicated that the deadline to submit the application has been extended to 14-Jan.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Cheers

Hi All,

I have already applied to AIM, & I have got good feed-back about the college, specially if your focus is India/Asia.

However SP Jain's GMBA(Singapore/Dubai) is also fast catching up, with better placements and good ROI.

Does anybody have any facts to decide the better one of the two??

B School comparison is not allowed in Pagal Guy.:nono:

However SP JAIN GMBA is 12 months course whereas AIM is 16 months course.

Both the programs are good.
Hi All,

I passed out from AIM last year (2009-09 batch).

Let me start with good things about the college.

  1. Good faculty
  2. Course structure is good and its updated regularly
Coming to a weak point PLACEMENT!!! Yeah its true that only ~20 people got placed (around 17 with CTS) before our graduation. We had a batch of 120. So the placement was really really bad. This was the third batch in a row with such a bad placement.

So if you are planning to study and learn then definitely go to AIM. Trust me you will really learn a LOT. If you coming to get a better job or to change your career then please dont think of joining AIM. According to my view the college's administration is not even trying to help the students in getting placed.

My batch consisted of 120 students out of with 70% were Indians. They say that minimum GMAT score should be 600 but we had students with less than 600. Same with the work experience. We had people with less than 2 years of work experience.

Thanks,
Shalabh

These are my personal views.

Hi,

Can you please let me know whether people get into exchange programs with colleges in India

Also, did you try on your own to get placed in CTS or 17 people selected were from the campus itself.

the Recruiters list put up by the college has many good recruiters.

Is it through self networking

Yup from my batch people went to IIM A, B, C, I and XLRI.

I am one of the 17 guys. Why you asked this question?

Yeah the list is indeed good. They have visited our campus, but when is the question!!!! For sure not from our batch....

Hows the internship scenario. Is it also similar.

In what way does this exchange program help students ... I think 48 out of 120 should be getting chance since the criteria is top 40%

Since Recession is fading away and companies are hiring it is important to understand what happens with placements and internships

Is it important to clear CFA level 1 to complete MBA with Finance Specialization

I have IT + IB experience and would like to move onto Finance ...Therefore need to understand the situation

---------------------------------------------------------------

This is what i picked up from AIM MBA Blog ..its not AIM blog

Just been from road show in bangalore.. in hotel ragaalis.. it was very good..professor Li kam had come along wid alumni.
They were telling about the different technique of teaching in AIM, Te case study method. There are rround 600 case studies in 16 month MBA program. The MM is 11 month with average of 9+ exp. The Aumni n/w is very strong. It heps u getting a job.
According to Li, 60 pc of present batch has been placed. They take weightage on essays, marksheet, essay, reco and scores.
It seems to be a cheap college, 15 L is overall expenditure. Its very tough for veg people.. as they spill pork on everything. Average exp per month is 200$.There is a 4 month exchange program with top university.

Whoever wanted to Internship got an offer. Internship is optional at AIM.

Yeah 40% people get selected. I can't comment on how it helps student.

I hope next batches get placed before they graduate.

You need to clear FRM level 1 or CFA level 1 to specialize in Finance.

Did any IT work exp batch mate of yours specialize in Finance

I would like to take a feedback from them to understand how to move forward.
