AbaKus, the Systems Interest group at IIM Kozhikode is proud to announce
the Annual IT management seminar (AIMS 2006), to be held on August 12-13
2006.

The first event in the run up to this systems seminar is Sys-O-Mania, the
Cognizant Case Study Contest. The case study is designed to test the
mettle of budding managers in a typical IT industry scenario. It's a test
of one's skills in identifying new opportunities, formulating entry
strategies and charting growth trajectories for a business.

Prize Money:

1st prize: Rs.15,000
2nd Prize: Rs 10,000
3rd Prize: Rs 5,000

Important dates:

Last date for submission: 29th July 2006.
Announcement of Results: 1st August 2006
Presentation at IIM Kozhikode : 12th August 2006

Aim of the case study is to identify the business objectives, business strategy and to formulate an IT strategy for a consumer electronics giant planning its 2nd wave of growth in India. The case lays out the market, competition, the products and technology requirements from a business perspective. So now put your brains to work, get going and discover for yourself, what it takes to find that "perfect" fit between a company's business strategy and the IT strategy?

AIMS this year is into it's third edition and with every passing year it getting bigger and better.
This year we have tried to get speakers from a diverse backgrounds which will lend a new outlook to the theme - "IT India: From Cost Advantage to Strategic Partnerships". This seminar is also one of the bigger events at the start of new B-School academic year.
We would encourage participation in large numbers for the case study competitions and also as delegates for the seminar.

Aim/Objective of the case study: Address/Solve the business problem a prospect - a Leading Mobile GSM/3G Services Provider of UK - is facing in the most efficient way and under the existing constraints.

Expectations: The students are supposed to

Assume the role of one of the offshore IT Vendors and address the problem according to the strengths of the chosen vendor.
Strategize the solution addressing all the concern pain points and come out with an offshore/onsite delivery model which will take care of all the practical problems the prospect is facing

Delivery Mechanism

Present a value proposition in the power-point presentation structure attached. Your presentation should not be more than 15 slides with lucid handout notes appropriately placed against each slide
