Kyon tension le raha hai.pichle 3 saal se TIME waale LCFI,UDLI ,XXXX etc jaise wahiyat quetion types banate jaa rahe hain aur aisa kuchh bhi CAT mein nahin aata, not even remotely related.Aur jo aata hai uska TIME waale sahi answer nahin de paate.Har coaching institute chauda hone ke liye kuchh ajeeb sa question type banata hai.LCFI is from that category.Dont panic if you're not able to understand it.
Without attempting LCFI you can score quite good in VA if you do other question types carefully.
PS:LCFI questions are like special dish of a restaurant,e.g., shalimar restaurant will have Veg shalimar special.and those special dishes are the worst of all items on the menu.
A ray of hope amongst disastrous 1106 and 1105..

This AIMCAT has really turned the game for me big time. For the first time in entire season I have missed the VA cut. DI has always been spoilsport, but clearing QA cutoff for second time in a row was a pleasant surprise for me. Check my mock scores for more.
VA - (9c, 8w) - 28 (85.09) Yeh clear bhi kya hi clear hai
QA - (10c, 2w) - 38 (93.5)
LDI - (14c,2w) - 54 (99.43) Only saving grace
OA - (33c, 12w) - 120 (98.77) (AIR 192)
The way things are going, I might soon start dreaming of just breaking into the 99s...

Looks like something happened to my DI all of a sudden. Couldn't clear the cutoff in two consecutive mocks (1108 and 1107). Came back hard in 1106 (98+ percentile), so hope that was just passing clouds. Let us see what more is in store for me.
Here's the result..

To all those worried about not clearing VA cutoffs...My simple advice is not to panic. The moment that self doubt comes in ur mind,u begin to suspect every answer u mark.Take a chill pill and see how close u were to the answer u missed. VA is more a state of mind where ur thots need to be in sync with the question paper setter and a doubting mind can never reach that accuracy.
Being clear on what u want to attend is very important i feel.Ability to recognize potential landmines in verbal is more important than having a shakespearean vocab. For example,in this paper i left the LCFI questions and in the mock before this i left the para jumbling because i knew it was tuf.Attending all the VA questions neednt be the solution for a gud VA score...Its a bit of mixture of mad attempts and at the same time avoiding the landmines.Iam surprised to see many ppl screwing in VA this mock after a fantastic QA and DI score....My 2 cents..Hope they were useful.
Answer for the ? No 45 seems to be wrong in the Key Provided ..only 5% got it right ..as per time .. π

Mujhe pata tha ki kaise bhi karke verbal main number aa jaate hain..
(1) A heart transplant may not help patients who do not restrict the amount of salt in their diet.
(2) A major part of treatment for heart ailments is the post-operative regimen that results in strengthening of heart tissue and muscle.
(3) Only the human heart secretes a particular hormone that regulates blood pressure in the patient recuperating from a heart attack.
(4) There aren't many cardiologists who understand how a mechanical pump could be made to work efficiently.
(5) What it is that enables the body to accept an artificial heart is yet to be understood.
I guess the correct answer should be (3).
I second Abhij , In the Explanation they have mentioned 3 as the answer but while mentioning the same it changed to 2 π
45. It is believed by some cardiologists that a mechanical pump can be used as an artificial heart for those who suffer from a heart attack. Some experts however are in favor of only a human heart being used for patients who need a heart transplant. Which of the following most seriously undermines the recommendation of mechanical pumps as an artificial heart?
(1) A heart transplant may not help patients who do not restrict the amount of salt in their diet.
(2) A major part of treatment for heart ailments is the post-operative regimen that results in strengthening of heart tissue and muscle.

Thats why TIME verbal keys are so screwed up.
The usual, did not clear QA & DI

Even I don't know how I'm getting so many corrects in VA. Trust me guys, when I'm attempting the questions, I always doubt my responses. Kuch questions dekh kar meri bhi phat jati hai. Anyway, at least this one area is stable.
With college internals on, i'm unable to make time for studying QA and DI. I'm forgetting even the basics. For the last few months, i'm telling myself, "need to buckle up for quant & di"
kaustubhnsit248 SaysThats why TIME verbal keys are so screwed up.
this CR question was in DI section (wonder why)
the explanation correctly says option 3 seriously weakens the argument. it's only the key that's wrong. hopefully they will correct it like they did before.

i dont know what they provided because i hvnt analyzed that.but can tell my solution
see in these type of question or in DS question always think what he is asking.
here which statement is true....
so try to find a way by which you can negate any of the statement that will not be your answer(*finding at least one case where option fails)
1. what if a = 1 ,m=2,n=1
2. what if a = -1*( if m !=n then a has to be 1 or 0 or -1)
3. when m = n equation satisfies...so no need to check that
4. vague not even need to check
5. we have already got answer as 2
