According to the recent Cabinet Approval, the following airports are going to be privatised in due course of time : Ahmedabad , Guwahati , Jaipur , Lucknow , Thiruvananthapuram and Mangalore. No doubt that the ATC and CNS wing of the AAI will remain unaffected but what about the employees who are workingg in other departments like Operations, Law, HR, Commercial etc etc. Will these employees get shifted to other airports which are not being privatised or will they join the private sector? And most of all what about us? Those who'll get selected in ATC they remain unharmed. But what about the candidates who get selected in other departments of AAI? Will they have a bright future serving in AAI? Seeing the fast pace of privatisation of the airports it seems unlikely especially when you're not ready to join private firm after serving in AAI that is when the privatisation drive kicks in. And moreover looking at this rapid pace of privatisation of AAI airports it seems that in the coming 8 to 10 years or so very few airports will remain with AAI which won't have a private player. My only cause of concern is this : Do the selected candidates have a secured future in AAI (The ones who won't be a part of ATC) ? Your opinions here are most welcome especially the ones who are in any way in touch with the employees of AAI or the ones who are serving in this firm.
