:confused::confused:I plan to prepare for CAT '08 and other subsequent exams too. A couple of queries:
1) Is it advisable to study on your own. If so, is there anything to keep in mind going forward? Should I join a crash course or a test series?
2) Is there any way to get a list of all relevant exam dates ans schedules? The various autonomous exams for PG courses included...
3) Is studying for CAT enough to clear the GMAT exam? Is there any other reference material that I should refer to? Are there mock test for the GMAT exam? Again, should I study on my own or would it be advisable to join classes?:confused::confused:

Hey dude!!!!

Me 2 preparing for CAT 08....

1.According to me,answer to whether u shud join a coaching insti or not entirely depends upon u....Personally,i believe 1 shud join a coaching insti....if u believe ur prep are gud then u can join a crash course..Why i am saying this is bcoz CAT is a dynamic exam...its always changing and evolving and coaching insti can provide u right guidance for ur approach to CAT....a crash course can ceratinly help u brush up ur concepts and learn a few tricks for solving exam...apart from it i think TEST SERIES is a must....from watever feedback i have recieved from srs and oder puys any1 preparing for CAT must ceratinly opt for TEST SERIES...it can help u tune ur strategy for CAT and can help u identify ur weakness, strong points ...in a nutshell u can know where u stand in exam and can no hoe much work has to be put to succeed

2.For the second query, u dont have to worry abt it...all exams happen to be in month of Nov-Dec while some in Jan....u wud get the dates in PG itself...so just keep following PG...

3.Well, cant answer this...people do say that in GMAT the standard of VA is tougher than CAT....for more onfo u can visit the GMAT related discussion..

Hope the above info helps,

Cheers

Hi,

I have been preparing for GMAT.. well preparing for GMAT and preparing for CAT is preety different

The Verbal/English section in GMAT is much different from that in CAT, n is also difficult which needs dedicated practice n preparation. Although preparing for GMAT will help you in CAT English section

Whereas the Quant section in CAT is much tougher than in GMAT. If you're done with Quant for CAT, you are almost done for GMAT Quant as well

There is Data Sufficiency section in GMAT Quant, and smthing similar also comes in CAT

Hope this helps,

All the best 😃
