I know we are not allowed to compare colleges on pagalguy,but still since I am in a dilemma and therefore wanted to seek your help.i have already paid for sibm seat confirmation and now my name has also come for MBA core in 2 nd list.i want to pursue specialization in finance.which college is better?
@arch236 yaa go thru the previous posts in the last few pages of this thread..but i aint getting one thing ur percentile is 58 or ur combined marks is 58?

until and unless you want to confine urself with capital market....don't go for this course...this is what i feel....if you have strong interest in this field then you can join...regarding proper financial role..its not MBA with specialization in finance..it is MBA in capital market and your domain will be restricted to CM...prioritize your preferences before deciding....

If you want to specialise in finance then definitely go for SIBM-P if you want less competition during placements. Reason - NM core-finance guys have to fight out with CM & BM guys for around 40 odd companies where as in SIBM-P it may not be the case.

p.s - Placements for Core/CM/BM/HR happens together. Almost all companies are open for core but around 40 odd companies each year are open for core/BM/CM. Here, there is tuff competition for everyone. Certifications like CFA/FRM may provide you an edge though.

absolutely disagree on your advice of taking SIBM over NM-Core for finance!
NM as a brand ranks much higher in the industry when it comes to finance.
p.s : I too had converts from NM and SIBM
