@19rahul91 no idea ....generally around 9000 people apply for HRM&LR; course . But this stats is when i wrote the exam ( when people still have to make a choice b/w JMET and TISS)
so do ur maths ...

Any how scenario looks very bright with first international offer (PPO) and a couple of other companies coming with international locations or rotations .........

there was a news that tiss is going to stop placements..what was that can u plz throw some light on this matter.?

Plz read the news article carefully

TISS had stopped providing placements to Social Entrepreneur course as it believes in creating job-creators from SE course

rest of the courses have placement facilities

TISS has good placement track record seeing the trendz like PPO and new cos joining the process it seems it will get better and better
My suggestion concentrate more on entrance paper

Please can you let me know the pattern paper of the entrance exam n also suggest me which book is more good to refer for the exam as any how I hav to clear d exam.....& i have 1 doubt also i.e. is der negative marking fo every wrong answer ???

TISS paper pattern has changed recently

but traditionally TISS had 4 sections DI-LR, RC-VA , QA and GK

DI and Data sufficiency carries good weightage until last year

GK also carries good weightage and many aspirants find this section tough so serious aspirants also give emphasis on this section while preparing for TISS

RC passages were lenghty and mostly from Social Science Journal articles but questions were mostly factual based

QA is of easy-moderate level

PS: The pattern was followed last year and this yr the pattern had changed
better prepare according to new pattern the

i tried calng tiss...for change in my test center location....but they replied they dnt entertain such comments....wht 2 say nw....i have my job joining...
nt expected this frm such a reputed institute....
poor crab !!!

And the weightage of all 4 section is equal or not ?
And is there any negative marking for each wrong answer ?
And can you suggest me some name of the author's book which I can refer for the better results ?

Can anyone please upload sample papers for TISS previous years(solved if possible) or send QUES papers (5-10 yrs) to my email-id:[email protected]?

Also, please seniors could you please find out if after the intial common exam(100 marks), the second written test is subject specific or not?

I have applied for "media and cultural studies" and I am from a computer science background. So,if this test is subject specific, I need to start preparing as I know nothing.....

Suggest some books/websites for gk?

Negative marking is there?

cut off marks you have decided?

Placements for media and cultural studies course... Please throw some light on this as well

Hey Rashmi,
tiss paper 2 "social work" will have caselets on social issues with questions, that would basically check you on your sensitivity and awareness about the same. They might also ask you to write an article or short story on any social topic.
you should read FRONTLINE and THE HINDU as the topics are generally from them.

I got this mail from TISS ...i selected dehradun as my test center now if this is true then its truly unprofessional..and I dont get what are they really trying to say ....its written ur test center is chngd to lucknow den dey are sayin u ll have to appear for the tst in Guwhati....

" The city you have chosen in the online application form for the entrance test is 'Dehradun'.
To ensure that you get a good environment for writing the test we are changing it to 'Lucknow' i.e you will be appearing for your entrance test in 'Guwahati'. The test is at 10:AM on 13th January,2012. Please book your tickets for the travel. "
