hi..i ve applied for globalization and labour and the one year course for management of non profit voluntary organization courses...can someone plz tell me wat the PIT( pre interview test) for the same involve? also any clue as to wat the cutoffs for the same will be??
@appi8 MA(social entre) cutt off will always lower than HRM,75 Plus seems safe fr that course.but second round is tougher they ask about social plan u hav in ur mind might be take a test of wriitting propsals etc. keep in touch with EDI Ahemadabad student buisiness plan.
about GD at TISS,i appeared fr HRM,DS and Disaster MGT in 2009 Finally converted HRM ,Disater Mgt.
1. They give only socially Relevant topic:-Budget a tool of social development(HRM)
,women reservation(Devt Studies)
2. around 10 candidates in group
3. gender ratioo mostly in favour of girls.
4. it does not mean how much u speak but how much u give oppurtunity to others to speak and agree and disagree with comments.ur eye contact with members etc
5. try to interact with more people during lunch or free time,so that 2 or three people will be in ur GD group.it helps.
6. in my HRM group 8/10 are selected. from many group none selected
7. stay positive towards govt policies n programmes,mostly people r negative abt that.
i will tell about interview in my next post.

However rhetorical this might sound, there cannot be set answers to these questions. There can only be general pointers.
To answer these, you need a lot of self-reflection. You need to know yourself more and more everyday. You need to know about TISS and why is it that you are opting for it (apart from the obvious reason of course 
)

Hey guys, according to the CL TISS score calculator, my score is 74. Though I expected it to be around 80, but I couldn't manage to score well in the GK section :-/
I have applied for 3 courses, all three at TISS Mumbai. HRM, Globalization and social entrepreneurship. Out of which, I am sure that I won't be able to clear the HRM's cut off, because almost 70% people who sat for this exam have scored above 85. Can anyone please tell me, that what are my chances for the rest two courses? And how's the placement scenario of these programs?

whatsoover they will take" focus will remain the same" either essay or GD but it is tougher when essay test they will take because in that scenario social science graduates and people knowing the ground reality will have an upper hand then technocrats.secondly 88 is good score to convert all the calls.

@wheresthebell its not like that.TISS give weightage to ur social sensitivity only. for checking it they ask what is untouchability? interc aste marriage? etc questions. if u r getting such question in ur interview beleive me u r going to be selected.

@aayush_dang for globalisation, you better ask other people who are interested in that field but for SE i'm pretty much sure that they dont offer us placements rather TISS tries to hone our social entrepreneurial skills and regarding cutoffs, i can't say anything just wait and watch.
