Greeting from IIT Kanpur. Hope your CAT exam was good and all the best for the Results. This thread is for all the information you need for the IIT Kanpur MBA Programme. Following are the important dates to be kept in mind for IIT K MBA admission:

Online Application Starts: 10th January 2013
Last date for online application: 28th January 2013
Last date for receiving hard copy of your application: 4th February 2013
GD-PI Shortlist- 11th march 2013
GD-PI @ IIT K -11-14 April 2013

what is the requisite percentile required for sc candidate to be shortlisted for GDPI ?

hi,
we can not predict exact cut off for this year but SC/ST candidates are eligible to apply with a CAT Score of 75 percentile.

hi,
Cut off for last year was 93 percentile for Open category. it is likely to change this year.
No. of seats for general candidates last year was 39 but this year it may change.

I have one doubt.
In the placement report of IIT Kanpur for 2011-12 batch, it mentions that 26 students were placed and the institute has 100% placement.

So is the intake so low?

@Nipun.Parekh There are 77 seats approved for the intake.

So what happened to the remaining 51 students?

Is it like 77 is the maximum and the institute on takes in those who are eligible or fulfill the criteria?

what does these means 'Minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters)' ?
option a or option b.
a. i need to minimum 60% in every semester in 1st year minimum 60 and 2nd year year also min 60 and so on.....
b. i need to get aggregate of all semester is minimum 60%.

See, the batch you are taking about is batch 2010-12. at that time admission were through JMET only. and another reason for low batch size was that IIT K hardly give wait list. at that time also IIT K has not given long wait list just to make sure to not to go below certain level and hence all the seats were not filled. If you look at the our batch and our seniors batch the batch size is 50+ in both the cases. Hope that clears your doubt.
