Hi...What would be the minimum cut-off requirement to expect a call for the selection process for a OBC candidate?.. What was the previous year cut-off? Would it be lower for a candidate with 2 years of work experience? Any response with these details will be greatly appreciated !!

@rameshinator : Every year the minimum cut off required would vary. The Cut Off's for 2012-2014 batch would be released in a while. Please click on http://www.bim.edu/index/faq.php to check the cut off's for the 2011-2013 batch.

For the selection of candidates to GD, and PI, only the CAT score would be considered. For people with Work Experience, the CAT score would not be lowered, but Work - Ex would be an added advantage in the subsequent part of your selection process.

Wish you all the best for CAT and the entire application process. Good Luck!

Will BIM consider CMAT scores this time ?

BIMAdmission,Thanks for the quick response and your wishes... How is the final selection process? Will it be based predominantly on GD/PI performance or would the CAT score have equal weightage?
Does BIM generally release this complete selection mechanism?

@rameshinator : The CAT score would have a weightage in the further selection process as well. However, it is up to the discretion of admissions department to change the weightage given to CAT score, GD and the PI. BIM traditionally doesn't release the selection mechanism.
@nitsna : Request you to please wait till the official admission notification is released. Till now, the information that we have got is, only CAT would be considered.

hI...i belong to MBC-TN category.. is it true tat there is a seperate quota for tn students? if so wat is the min. cut-off percentile....calld for GDPI last year...

@dineshtce : Yes, BIM offers a separate quota for TN Students. The Cut-off's used last year have not been revealed till now. You could expect the same to come out along with admission notification. However, the cut off for each category for the batch of 2011-2013 is available here http://www.bim.edu/index/faq.php Please have a look.

Wish you all the best for CAT and the entire application process. Good Luck!
@BIMAdmission Link you provided is not working..

@BIMAdmission
@kvrvmanoj : Dear Manoj, there seem to be a full stop at the end of the link in the previous post that caused the confusion. The correct link is - http://www.bim.edu/index/faq.php
@bhuvaneshyoyo : As per the plan for the current year admissions, we have till now decided to accept CAT scores only. Any changes in the admission procedure would be conveyed with an official notification. Request you to please wait until the official notification is released by the college. (tentatively to be released by end of this month).

Wish you all the best for the entire application process. Good Luck!

@Bhatakti-aatma : Could you please mention whether you fall under any specific category or OC? BIM considers only the CAT scores for the initial selection process.

For the GD and interview, your communication skills do matter. Competition would depend on the number of people applying and what cut-off the institution decides. Hence it is very tough to take a call on that now.

Generally, in any interview process, the panel would like to have a balance of several factors such as co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, general awareness etc.. that you have mentioned. If you give a good GD and interview, your probability of getting selected is on the higher side. Good Luck!

Hello All, Would request everyone to mention your category while posting queries to the BIM Admission id.

@BIMAdmission
sir i am from open category.
i have not been involved in extra activities in school and collgs because i was naive at that time and was unawared of the importance of these things.
but my overall awareness...knowledge...communication skills and confidence level during the interviews is good.
so with this type of profile what percentile will help me fetch an interview call..?

Sir,

Is the Quota applicable for SC ,ST only for students from TN or is it for All india level ?
Thanks
@Bhatakti-aatma : For Open Category, the cut off for GD,PI call hovers around the 90th percentile. For exact cut off scores of the 2011-2013, please check the link www.bim.edu/index/faq.php
As told earlier, the cut off scores usually vary for every batch depending on the number of applicants. Also remember that BIM uses only the cut off scores to short lists applicants to the GD-PI round.

It's usually ok if you don't have much of exposure into extra curricular activities. However, you should be able to justify the same when asked.
