After Dream Team and UnderDogs Team being up, all of us were wondering that where are the notifications for Regional Teams.
But, we have something different in store for you this year :mg:
Most of the selectors have handled quite a few selection processes, so this year we have decided to share the ownership of selecting the team with you all 😃 And in the process, we are not coming up with any of the teams from our end whether it be a regional dream team or any other team.
Infact this year, it is YOU, who has to come up with a team of your own and nominate your entire team. Be it a study group of a city, shoutboxers, team of people active at specific preparation threads or any other way to form a team that you can think of, if the team has passion to succeed, zeal to stay active on forum and enthusiasm to help people through it; you are most welcome to form a team. Onus of running the teams actively shall be in your hands this year 😃

Before you shoot any query, let us mention the selection criteria and how this is going to work. After that, you can use this thread to clarify any doubt as well as to nominate your teams. 😃
Selection Process
1. Come up with a group of passionate puys, 16-20 in number, who are in your study group.
2. This study group can be based on anything. It can be a group of people active at SB thread, Regional study groups, people active at verbal threads, people helping around in quant section, or any other basis to form a study group. We are fine with any basis that you can think of.
3. You need to come up with a nomination for your team in the format given below.
4. A group of selectors will shortlist the convincing nominations and talk to coach/mentor of the nominated team along with its captain and vice-captain.
5. On the basis of this, few teams will be finalized and they shall run simultaneously with DT and UDT for season 2012.
6. There is no upper cap on number of teams that would be selected. All depends on the passion for forum, zeal to succeed, readiness to help and enthu to crack the exams. 😃
How to make a nomination post
1. All the points mentioned below should be posted in a single post. You can edit the post any number of times before the deadline.
2. Team should compose of 16-20 members excluding the mentor and/or coach of the team. Having atleast a mentor or coach is mandatory for every team.
Nomination goes in following format:
a. Team Name ( Yes, you have the liberty to select your team name )
b. Basis used to form the team ( can be SB/ City study group / Verbal group/ any other )
c. Name of the mentor and/or coach
d. Team Members' name ( along with link to their mock scores if possible) - Should have 1 captain and 1 vice-captain
e. Why your team should be there, i.e. What's the USP of your team :)
f. How will others be benefitted from the team
Rules
1. Deadline for nominations- 10 August, 11:59 PM
2. If you already have a group, you can directly go with the nominations after having a discussion on the same.
3. If you think you are short of deserving members, you can open a thread to let people know about you and gather a team.
4. No publicity/comparison is allowed against/with other teams which are coming up with nominations.

Please see that teams should preferably consist of people taking CAT and/or other MBA entrance exams this year.
Coach/Mentor can be anyone though.

So this means that you have to come up with the team - start the nominations thread, see how it goes, and then approach this thread for the final nomination.
One more thing that I had to add over here:
We are going to be as rigorous for these teams as we will be for DT & UDT while selecting, excess being whether you meet the basic criteria allocated for being a member of that specific team or not. Eg, if you're Mumbai based or not, for being part of MMDT. Else, the process for selection will be equally rigorous.
If we find that there is not enough numbers of criteria-meeting members for any team, that team may well not be created. Teams require a certain quantum to succeed, and just enthusiasm to run that team does not cut it enough.
If the team you have nominated yourself for, or have been nominated for, does not make it due to the lack of members, fear not. You will be getting an idea of the quantum as the deadline nears. You are welcome to align yourself with another team that is facing a similar shortfall. For example, if both the Mumbai & Pune teams are falling short of members, they are welcome to come together to form the Mumbai-Pune Expressway team.
Since you are the owners of the teams, you get to form the criteria, and hence the ethos of the team itself.
Although Varun has already detailed these points in his opening post, thought of reiterating them here.

Adding one more point here 😃
Try not to have overlap with other teams when it comes to members. Reason being it shall not be allowed during final formation and if a member is nominated in 2 or more teams, we shall be talking to the respective person and ask him to select one of the 2/many in which he wants to continue for the season.
PS: Overlaps allowed only with DT and UDT. But, not more than 5 in total.
PPS: Sole reason is to get more people involved 😃

Carrying forward the revered tradition of Mumbai's beloved regional dream team, we thought that this would be a great way to form a team of sincere and hardworking people from our region to crack CAT and secure an admission in a great college. The regional basis of the team will also help other non-members to co-ordinate their preparation with other people who will now be constantly available on one thread.
We will have MMDT meets like last year and so people throughout the city can meet and discuss preparation methods, strategies and other related things.
The basic idea is to form a fraternity among the Mumbaikar PG junta. :)

Here comes the nomination for a team that is very close to my heart. The Delhi/NCR Team.
I feel honoured to have the opportunity of introducing the team as it's coach.
This is a team of passionate people who are ready to help each other and these are the puys who revived the culture of PG meets in the city (Yes, I can claim that anyday)

Regarding the USP, I've already described it but let me put it like this. This is the team which has the passion and motivation to make it big (Every team claims that, what's new in that...right? So, read on ). These are the people who help each other and the fellow puys and this is evident from their activity here. These are the puys who have been meeting once every week and I can say for sure that they would continue to meet every alternate weekend in the near future as well. This way they motivate each other, discuss their scores and a healthy competition continues. And when one sees the team members helping each other, trying to bring everyone on par and competing in terms of scores at the same time, you can easily sense what's in store. 😃 (I hope it doesnt go down as too much faff 
)
