About MBA @ BITS:
The Department of Management at BITS, Pilani was established in the year 1971. The program was started as MMS which further evolved into MBA in the year 2006. It is a two-year Post-Graduate Programme designed as a fulltime residential course for graduates who wish to pursue their careers in management.
The objective of this programme is to bridge the gap in the industry by providing quality management professionals with strong technical skills and an acumen for managing a business, thus meeting the requirements of modern technology based industries. The Management programme in BITS was ranked by Asia week as the Top 30 Best Full-Time MBA. The programme has also been profiled by Business Week Online (the Best B Schools).

First of all I want to know that to which BITS campus do you belong to.
Definately you donot belong to Pilani campus becuase the way you talked about the MBA programme at Pilani does reflect that you really don't know d insights of the programme....Well if you belong to the Goa or hyd Campus then sorry to say that MBA is not offered there....So just come to Pilani once and see the status of DOMS by urself....
What is the BITS DOM admission procedure and can you tell something about placements

The Admission procedure has cahnged from thos year....earlier the entrance test used to be in may....this time the pattern has changed and it is scheduled to be in december......the notification will be out within a few days..........this time the admission process will be completed by january end......if you want to know anything more......feel free to shoot up your queries....
Oh Okay and i want some light on the placements. Is the placement 100% and whats the average pay,max pay and least pay.
Will the technical part in the test be removed?
The placements of 2010-2012 batch are still going on.......at this point of time we cannot release the current status as it is against institute policies.....
But for 2009-2011 batch i can tell you the details...
The highest pay was 16lkhs by P&G;,12 lkhs to three students by johnson n johnson,Uco bank was around 7.2 lakhs,JP Morgan was nearly 7 lks
lowest was 5.5lks by Dell...
Besides that BITS has an added advantage of Practice school sessions where in the last semester of your course you are sent to work in a company for a period of six months and you are paid a stipend of around 25000...
So most of the students convert their PS into jobs with a package of around 6.5 to 7 lkhs.
PS is a compuulsary part of the course and it's the institutes responsibility to get you a company for your PS
Technical part is still there in the test.....but a preperation at a normal level will make u overcome d test
okay and what is the the conversion ration from gd,oi to final selection and when will be the notifications out?
I have the following queries.
1. If the admission process is changed, has any tentative date been released?
2. Please shed some light on the pattern of the test paper and the difficulty level. Is there any topics specifically we need to prepare other than the topics covered in CAT prep.
3. I have heard that questions may be asked from physics and maths. Being completely out of touch, is there any books for the technical paper to prepare specifically as the exam approaches earlier in december itself.
4. On the whole, pls share how different is the bitsat exam from the other mba exams like CAT, XAT etc., and the exact way of how to approach bitsat exam for mba in terms of preparation and methodology of attempting questions.

Please don't worry about conversion ratio and all....These things will be a secondary issue for you.
First concentrate on the qualifying the written test...
A focussed preperation will definately help you overcome all the hurdles.

1). As I said earlier the tentative dates will be released within a span of few days...as soon as it is released we will update on PG..
2). The difficulty level is medium......If you are clear with your basics then no matter....you can cross all the hurdles.... well you need to prepare engineering maths n physics in addition to the topics covered in cat...a detail syllabus can be found on the institute website.
3). Well you can refer to the detailed syllabus mentioned on the institute website and go topic wise rather than studying the whole syllabus....
4) The exam is diff from other exams in terms of the syllabus as it also includes physics and mathematics.
The exam is online. Once you have attempted a perticular section you cannot go back....These all kinds of boundations make it diff from other exams....The level of the exam is based on your basic concepts rather than high calculations....if you are clear with your basics then everythings okay

Once you have attempted a particular section you cannot go back....These all kinds of boundations make it diff from other exams....The level of the exam is based on your basic concepts rather than high calculations....if you are clear with your basics then everythings okay
After clearing the written exams, once shortlisted you will be called for gd and pi and selection will be based on the basis of your marks in written exam as well as ur performance in gd-pi. As far as ur profile is concerned, there should be no worries regarding that because ur profile is good.
