last year people wid 150-160 wud have got nmims b now the batch will be of above 200......great combination
Lat year most of the aspirants dint know much about NM-B and also the procedure for applying for NM-B wasnt not known to most of the students...as a result of which NM-B received very very few applications and hence the cutof was 145 for phase 1....from which only few students were selected....
Later for phase 2...students with more than 200 score were called seperately for gdpi...
And later for phase 3,4,5-students who had 210+ score and who had applied for mumbai but didnt get the course which they wanted were offered NM-B.....
Thus most of the students here have a score of more than 200....
finally there is some talking going on this thread. I would appreciate if the current batch students shed more light on NMIMS blore. Campus life? how is it similar to other premier b schools? quality of faculty? quality of summer internships?

We have some of the finest faculty....we have a good comination of industry persons and academicians....most of them are phd's...from premier universities of the country as well as abroad....
The summer internships of our college are comparable to premier b-school of the country....
Its ok to refute any false allegations, but kindly be polite in your replies. Please understand that the purpose of this thread to extend help to the aspirants,. No senior here can deny the fact that there is not much information that flowing around here. No one here answered any question related to faculty , placements or any key issue. i would appreciate if you can be kind enough to help the aspirants out here! there is not even a thread for GD/PI call getter's.
It would be of a great help if you can answer some queries here: 1) What is the involvement of NMIMS Mumbai in mentoring NMIMS Bangalore? Does NMIMS share its experience faculty with NMIMS bangalore? 2) I cannot make a fool of myself by asking about placement data, so i want to skip that point 3) what is the intake for PGDM course? 4) Would GD involve case study analysis or a discussion on current topics? 5) Is GD a elimination round or everyone is given a chance for PI? 6) Can you please provide some pointers to PI, something that NMIMS Blore specifically focuses on? 7) I need an extension to my GD/PI f=fdate, Can you share some ID of admissions? Is ther a common placement program for Mumba and Blore? If not what percentage of companies visiting NMIMS mumbai visit bangalore too? I guess this can be answered with the current data you might have, there no good reason to maintain secrecy on this data, 9) should we decide our specialization at the time of joining or we are given some time? can you share contact of someone who has chosen elective as operations& IT? Can you please shed some light on what kind of profiles that are being offered in operations & IT(till date)
Thanks for your time, Premasai
I believe you have got your answers from another post. I repeat again, placement data WILL be made available once the placement process gets over. We have already specified the reason for it. I'm repeating it again. As placement data is one of the criteria for getting into a B-school, the data has to be a concrete one. It shouldn't be like "average package is xyz till now". We can't quote any random figures till we get the complete data and moreover if you get a complete data, it will be actually beneficial for you and other aspirants to take a better decision. Hope you have understood what I meant to say.
The faculty members are highly experienced and they are one of the best you can find.
GD generally involves discussion on topics relating to current affairs. No case study happens. But I would suggest you to be prepared for both. GD/PIs are full of surprises.
Till last year, GD was not an elimination round.
In PI, it entirely depends on the interviewer. There's no definite standard maintained like particular set of Q's. Brush up some subjects from your degree course. If you have work-ex, you can expect Q's from there. Some Q's of situational analysis can also be asked.
No common placements.
You will be given time to decide. But before you move in to the 2nd year you have to decide your course.
I don't understand on what basis you are making this statement...Many a times it has been written, in ENGLISH, in this forum that placement data WILL BE ANNOUNCED AFTER the placement process gets OVER...Also, where's the question of honesty coming here, can you please explain???..Nobody is fooling anyone out here. People have better things to do other than playing around. Even then if you think that you are fooled, then indeed you are one.
You better ask urself what is the basis of such statement. You r right...lets keep placement aside ( god knows whether u guys have sm data to show or not ...)... but can u justify why r they asking for extra money for gd pi ??? and can you plz justify why the hell r they conducting gdpi in mumbai only when even a c grade institute nowadays can arrange gdpi in multiple cities...do hell with this centralized system...it is highly uncomfortable for aspirats who r living far away frm mumbai..specially if the person is a student or a working professional.
If we really want a cordial atmosphere where seniors are in a position to answer we must keep an open mind and think from their perspective also.
EVERY senior in EVERY college wants the best possible set of juniors, as smart as they can be, so that the brand of their college can stay strong or grow further. They are NEVER concerned if the institute earns a few thousand rupees extra by the students in GDPI fee as they dont(presumably 😉 ) get any commission from it. Seniors encourage aspirants to attend GD/PI process as this is an opportunity to personally interact with them, which is THE BEST way to get all or ANY queries answered. I say all this because I have recently attended the GD/PI process for some colleges and the way my queries were answered is just not possible on virtual platform.
The usual secrecy around Placement figures is due to 2 reasons 1. They dont want to give inappropriate figures which can, and most probably will be changed in the future. 2. They want to give a fair chance to their fellow batch mates who yet to be placed, as revealing the number of people already placed might dissuade companies from coming altogether.
I am sure nobody should join a college which is not able to answer all and absolutely ALL the queries of every aspirant, but it is also important on our part to attend the GDPI process and be patient, giving the college a fair chance, unless the college "Thinks beyond the IIMs" On the part of seniors
I humbly request you all, especially those in the admissions team, pls be as frequent and as clear and as detailed as possible to answer all our queries. I understand that you all must be VERRRY busy but you must remember, aspirants dont know how it is to be a B-School senior, but seniors DO know how it is to be an aspirant!!

I will like to answer this as this is related to NMIMS brand NM each year takes fees for gd pi and conducts GD PI at mumbai center. You knew it when you applied for so why crib about it now. You dont like it dont pay the fees for gd pi. Believe me NM is such a brand that one or two like you not coming to gd pi will hardly make any difference

You made the statement and not me. So, it's you who should explain and not me. If you make a statement without knowing the reason for it, then you shouldn't make any statements at all.
If you are uncomfortable with the process of NM, then step aside. No one's forcing you. You are not the only student or a working pro who had participated in the GD/PI of NM in the past and paid extra bucks to attend them. So, find a better place to crib.
Regarding the placements, it will be announced as said earlier. You have a problem with that, go to hell.
@pinshho I believe this is an official thread of a b-school and seriously "go to hell" is way to much . people are posting and viewing at this thread for information. Moderators please add a check for such kind of words being used.

Request people from college answering queries here to remain patient and maintain a check on their words while responding to queries. We know it takes lot of efforts to respond to lot of queries, but we on this side of the gate should understand the anxiety of aspirants as well because we too were aspirants sometime back. Hope you will take care of this from now on.
Your efforts to help the aspirants is highly appreciated though.
@Aspirants
Please understand that there are certain things which are decided by administration in any college and student run admission committees or other students of college have no say in it. So, please get your relevant queries solved here and not those in which students have no role.
With all due respect to the aspirants please be patient till the data are officially released... On the behalf of aspirants we are in talks with our college authorities to get the data released as quickly as possible..So please wait patiently, I know it is tough to be patient as I was in a similar position last year browsing through each and every thread in Pagalguy and inquiring about the college from various possible sources but one thing I would like to say patience will definitely pay...Attend the GD/PI, give ur best shot in the interview and then make a call... @VisionIIM-ACL thanks for your help, we will make sure to keep a check on discussion with the aspirants...

Well, my reply was meant only for that particular person. If you had read his/her post, you would have seen that he/she wasn't making any pleasant remarks either..Understand one thing and I had mentioned it earlier too, we can't quote any random figure till we get the clear picture. That's possible only when the total process gets over. It's actually for the benefits of the aspirants...Hope you got the point.
