hello
may be some people might think here that i am trying to spoil the college,s image, but its not so at all. I was so very sure about trying for nmims bangalore myself but over time, have come to realize that you people have just been hitting around the bush. the example you have cited is absurd. the avg is not calculated the way you showed. so, please refrain from doing that. i agree with your college policies and everything else, i also agree that the college is good but how are we supposed to convince our parents without providing any facts?? after all they are the ones who have to bear a lot of expenses evn after the loan facility. applying fo so many colleges, retakes and then the expense borne for travelling, staying etc for people from outside bangalore unlike me. these are not minor. and that too if one has no knowledge about the college. suppose people get through the gd/pi and then finnd out the avg salary to be somewhere in 4-4.5 range, wont they feel cheated?? if its your policy, then its just hell of a policy, not expected from one like nmims. so, please either stop justifying your shortcomings or else come up with some facts..:)
Dear friend, The placement and cheating Story will come into picture once you had taken admission into the college, As of now not even the GD-PI list is out, so how come the Burden of Loan falling so early

...See even we all went through same stage a year back...applying to all the colleges before the deadline, then the GD/PI fees..then the Traveling expenses...End of the day atleast you guys know that companies atleast visit NMIMS-B and they got 100% summer intership for the first batch and the Final placement is goin on...But in our turn even that was "VACUUM"

..But before we go ahead, we consulted the seniors, then the college authorities but all these happened only after we given our GD/PI. and the seniors had helped us to take right decisions...So please even we are students, its just the matter of time that may be one of you will be in our position next year and helping out the new aspirants. as soon as the college announces the placement reports, anyone of you can start firing the question of How much? where?who?...and we will be happy to Answer all your Queries..As of now asking the same questions and predicting the placements or future of any college is not beneficial for You a well as Us. Kindly do well in your NMAT and then your GD/PI...by that time the Placement data will be Shining on the Website.
As of now a Sincere Request to all the Aspirants that.
1. Last year cut off was 145, but the selection process was different and emphasized only on the quality of the students as the number of applicants was very less(those who had taken NMAT2010 will know that you have only one option either to choose NM-Mumbai or NM-B/NM-H). this year the story will be different as Proper Procedure been followed right from beginning and the Number of aspirants inflow in our Campus itself shows the huge response.so the Cut off will only shoot up, which again completely in hands of Admission Department.
2. The first batch of PGDM is going through their final Placements & the second batch through their Summer placements. Both the data are
currently in hold due to administrative guidelines, so kindly have patience till they officially announce that.
3. For any other queries regarding faculties,New campus, infrastructure or any other aspects, do check the Facebook page or post/PM in Pagalguy.
4. NMIMS-Mumbai,Bangalore,Hyderabad all comes under NM-Family, so Faculties,Common Resource Portal(i.e Blackboard),Online Library & Journals, Research tie-ups(Amba Equity Research) are shared equally between the campuses. Even though Regarding Placements each Campus have their own Dedicated Placement Cells which follow same Norms & Guidelines.
5. Currently NM-Bangalore conducts 3 courses:
PGDM - 1st batch 33students
2nd Batch 72 Students
EPGDM - Am nt clear about the Batch number(4th or 5th i guess)
MPE - Weekend program only for working corporate Individuals(not sure about the Batch number but its the first program to start in NM-B)
6. Till now we all are very happy with the progress both in terms of Studies,Fun and the Job Prospects, but that doent mean you should beleive us untill and unless you meet anyone of us

Last but not the Least, i believe your GD/PI will be somewhat close to march & then final results by April, if (which i dont think will happen) by that time the placement reports are not declared then you can either ask the college authorities about it and get it clarified directly from them which i think will convince you more than any student volunteers like me and then kindly decide your Next step whether to Join or Not..
Good luck to All
