[2012-2014] NMIMS Bangalore Admission Queries

Hi Seniors....
Please speculate cut off of NMIMS Bangalore...
I got 192

Dear Anand,

You will have to wait till the official cut off is declared....as NMIMS Bangalore has received many applications the cutoffs are expected to be on a higher side...Keepu r fingers crossed...

All the best......

Hi Triple
I know it will be high but i heard last time it was 145. Correct me if i am wrong. Taking consideration difficulty level of paper and sectional timings cut off is going to fall by some points as far my understanding.
NMIMS is a big name and i think last year too, many student applied, considering all these factor i think cut off will not shoot more than 20 points.
I know you can't predict but what is your view?

Last year most of the aspirants didnt know how to apply for NMIMS bangalore...i.e unlike this year where aspirants had options to select campuses.....Hence NMIMS bangalore had received very few applications last year....The cutoff of 145 was for phase 1 where only few students had applied to NMIMS bangalore....Later for phase 2 admissions the cutoff was 200+....and later students who had 210+ but were wait listed for NMIMS mumbai were offered seats at NMIMS bangalore......

But this year there was an dedicated options for the aspirants to choose the campus of their choice....hence the cutoff would be higher with more number of applications...

According to me there should not be much difference between Mumbai and bangalore campus cutoffs...

I am hoping they will consider only those students for NMIMS Bangalore/Hyderabad who have actually applied for these two institutes.
Going through different NMIMS thread and through poll i can assume Mumbai cutoff will hover around 203-206 (just my speculation) and for other sister institutes, i think there cut-off will be 10-20 points lower since they are new and not even one batch is passed ( again my speculation)
I am hoping for best....

Hey seniors!
When would the shortlist be out?
Couldn't get any info on NMIMS website.

@magnum_rahul

You can check here Leading Business School in India NMIMS School of Business Management Top B School in India NMAT

what the hell is wrong with the website of nmims bangalore?????????? as it is there is lack of transprncy and on top of that the very lil info that is available to us is through the website.... now if that too is inoperative then whom to trust n from where to gather information? we aspirants also need to do bit of research n I hope you guys understand that... thank you..

Nmims bangalore:
1. The worst website.
2. The worst thread with absolutely no queries being solved...cut-off, placements etc not even a bit... Shud v take it by default as no student has got placed so far..?? Because you are not the only people with the first batch and all.. Atleast people out here require some facts on placement which is not all but a major factor in deciding.
3. Lame predictions like cut-off will be parallel to that of mumbai campus. Because if that happens then i guess the college wont have a single seat occupied.
4. Have personally been there and know that the institute operates on the top 2-3 floors of a commercial building. They have plans to come up with a new building by the end of this year but nothing can be said for sure. But still the fee is same as mumbai campus( so this is going to be the worst college as far as roi is concerned-another major factor in deciding for a b-school).
5. The hostels do not meet the expectations for which a person will be willing to pay close to 1 lac pa.
6. Above all, they should not have come up with this thread at all. That could have saved us all around 350 bucks....two good movies i guess...;)

even after this if you are willing to follow this thread and join this institution...god bless you..:) kudos nmims blore... And the seniors... You are doing a great job here.

P.s: Have read somewhere that some guy here in nmims bangalore opted for it over gim. Courageous fellow. Wish you all the best for all your future endeavours...:)

NMAT 1 -> QS - 66 LS - 58 LR - 67 OA: 191
NMAT 2 -> QS - 66 LS - 60 LR - 65 OA: 191 :banghead:

Have applied for NMIMS B'lore and Hyderabad as well along with Mumbai..seeing no chances for Mumbai... can you suggest what chances do i have of converting a call given that NMIMS gives 79% weightage to NMAT scores... what is your highest nmat score convert last year.. how will i be judged in the second stage of admissions...ie GDPI... expecting a thorough insight into the process...

edit......

Hi guys! Thanks for starting this ;)

Any info about the cut-offs..and what about work-ex?

Cutoff date in not known to us. We are in touch with admission dept. We will let you know once we will be having official communication.

I don't understand why you have to bother so much without you being selected for admission....My sincere advise to all aspirants would be to give your interview, once you get selected decide whether you want to join the college or not...By then you will also get some details to decide on your admission...All the best....

yes Sir, we all agree to what you are saying... we haven't got selected yet.... but please try and understand our problems.. with scores like 180+ we can expect a call... hence we would obviously want to know more about the college... and to attend the gdpi we need to go down to bangalore, not like it will be conducted in our hometowns... so if we are having to travel all the way to bangalore to attend a gd, isn't it obvious and normal we would want to know about the institution... yes, what you are saying is understandable that placements will play a role in deciding to join, but sir don't you think the website of a college sets the 1st impression???? considering the fact that it is a new college it's fair on our part also to have apprehensions... n since that brand NMIMS is huge, we will be taking the risk but just being blindfolded by the brand and not having ANY BIT of knowledge regarding the institution, going to attend the gdpi is a huge gamble for us, hence if the site could be fixed and some necessary information would be provided we would be obliged..
thanking you.

Hi Ragu,

though on a personal note,I hate getting into any sort of conflicts in such an useful platform like pagalguy.but u must understand our problems. 1st thing which I want to say is they dont have centers for gd/pi apart from bangalore.so I residing in kolkata have to travel all the way there without having no picture of how the college is.no offense to anybody but some of them might have better option than this, but they still might travel to keep options wider.

One more thing which I want to emphasize is,leave aside placements. we haven't got any idea about which companies came for SI even. Even IIM T completed its 1st yr...but if u go to there site u will find how much informative it is.atleast we get can assurance, that everything is transparent. but from a third person view,if u compare nmims bby and bangy it looks like a step son. apart from the fees, what we get to know from the website? howz the hostel? howz the food? what can be the expected ROI? from where we will get to know these things,if seniors don't help us?and lastly, just spending a single day in campus and giving GD/PI doesnt give any idea about the college to be honest...

sorry if I have hurt anybody..

Dear Friend,
I understand your situation. You also try to understand that we are helping you as much as we can but if we are not authorized to reveal specific details then we cant help it. Now coming to your queries one by one:
Website: As I said in earlier post we are in touch with with IT Dept for website issue. It will be up very soon. Today I went to IT dept for the same.
Companies for SI: I can share the details where our senior batch did internship. You can get detail list from wwebsite once website is up.
To name few of them: Airtel, IOC, MillwardBrown, BankofBaroda, MoserBear, Fidelity, Nokia, Barclays, KPMG, Toyato, Mahindra, Reliance
But let me assure you we got very good response from Industry for Summer Internship. We would be happy to share the details once college will allow us.
Hostel and College Pictures: Go to below link
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies,Bangalore | Facebook
Apart from your questions let me assure you that we have best faculty for every subject. And in college we have many committees like Cultural, Sports, CSR, Equinox Club, Placement, Public relations and many more. So we all are engaged in participating in inter college and intra college events. In the pipeline we have Management Fest which is going to attract students from other B school as well as Cooperates.
Atlast, as you asked about ROI. Let me tell you my personal view that taking admission in NMIMS Bangalore is worth. But for each individual factors considered for ROI is different. So dude it is your call.
If any query then please feel free to ask.

Hi Monil,

A heartiest thanks.Seriously thank u for providing some insight.I have no qualms against any of the seniors. We all aspirants are grateful that you guys have really come out and helped us to the max.Spoken to several people, what really astonished me was that there isn't any infrastructure. The pix in fb shows a building, but what I have got to hear is its a corporate building out of which only 2 floors are there for NMIMS bangy. In the brochure also it says, there are 7 classrooms.I wanna know pgdm + egpdm how are that being sufficed in 7 classrooms?
Hostel I have seen,in fb if thats the case I must say its good. But bro still we wanna know some figures i.e. what was the avg. package provided by them?u know must be knowing cost is approx 10lakhs.so ROI im talking in the sense as to how many yrs will it take to repay off..as most of us will be taking loans !!! Thanks again !!!

Dude,

If at any point of time someone committed that we are going to reveal placement details by end of any month. I apologize for it.

And let me make you clear that we are going to reveal placement details only when we are authorized by college management.

hello Sir thanks for the help.. we students are grateful to you seniors... again, the loan factor as someone pointed out very correctly.... in how many years will we be able to pay it off is a thing we wud like to know... n one more thing, I hear from a few seniors who are currently studying @ nmims mumbai that no mentorship is provided by mumbai to bangy campus... is that true coz from what I gather from here, there is help provided by mumbai campus?
