Hi Srinivas,
Last time the cutoff was based on JMET scores which has become redundant this year. Also JMET cutoffs are based on ranks and raw scores unlike CAT which has percentiles.

The thread has started almost the same time as last year. It is just a platform for discussion about the whereabouts of IITK MBA. Application for the MBA program at IITK has not started yet. However any official notification would be informed on this thread.Till then give CAT and hope for the best.Best of luck

As this is the first time the IIT's are considering CAT score , nothing can be said with certainty. It is better that we dont indulge in speculations here cause that would just create a confusion in the minds of aspirants. Still if you are aiming for a seat at the IIT's a score above 95 percentile would be a good bet...But you should remember that these are just my words to satisfy your curiosity and nothing is fixed..

If CAT is going to be harder it would be for all the takers. So just remove that thought and prepare for the exam with a free mind. Best of luck with your preparations.

what is the total intake of iit-k (actually i am more interested in the no. of seats for general candidates)??? i heard that is was quite low.... :-(
ii) does profile have anything to do in the final selection or it will purely depend on the score & gd/pi??? & 1last ques, when will the application process start approximately????
Hi addrija,
The total intake for the last year was 77 seats with governments reservations as applicable.
Also profile is duly considered during the GD/PI rounds and a due weightage is given to the profile. Though there are no separate markings for profile as such.
As soon as the application process starts I will post here on this thread and also there would be notification on the website.So keep checking

what type of profiles are offered to management students in iit-k are they mostly technical, what is the placement statistics in terms of median salary offered >highest and lowest plus are there any international offers ????

All IITs funtion individually and have no connection what so ever in admission process.

1)Application process has not started yet.
2) Please find the same on the website. Complete report is present there.
3)Fee structure can change across batches,but for your information the fees per semester is nearly Rs. 38000.

There is no such thing that only technical profiles are offered. A variety of profiles are offered at IITK - MBA For more information you can check department website.

The applications were invited only after JMET results were out till last year. But as this year CAT scores will be accepted you can expect that applications will be invited as soon as scores are out. Keep checking the thread and website for more information. The complete information will be available once notification is out.

Yes, submission of separate application form will be required, you will get the exact deadline after next notification.
