hallow i had mailed my XAT application for along with the bank pay in slip on 25/11/2010,my courier shows that the courier shows it has been delivered on 30/11/2010. but still my XAT app status says "YOUR APPLICATION IS STILL UNDER PROCESSING".what does it mean ?my application has been recieved by them or not?please help.my XAT ID is:XAT443382


Normally, it does take time for processing. Follow the following instruction :
"If you do not receive the confirmation message within 24 hours of signing up, please check your spam/junk folder just in case the confirmation email got delivered there instead of your inbox. If you are unable to locate the email,please write to [email protected] citing your primary email id or call us up on 1800 102 1123 / 1800 103 1123 between 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. ( IST ) The helpline number is for BSNL & MTNL lines , for other service providers please check the alternate numbers for your city if you are unable to reach the customer care executive, please write to [email protected]. We shall get back to you in 48 hours.(excluding Holidays)". Just call them or mail them.. I hope you have given your mail id correctly..You will receive a sms after processing..

--Quant & DI

around 100+ ques marking scheme depends..usuaslly progressive negative marking.. You must have read the XAT prospectus.. it has the pattern clearly mentioned.. Also use the search thread to find out more in this thread.. Cut offs are around 99 percentile for XLRI and 96 + for XIMB..

How long should i wait for XAT ppl to upload the photo and signature ?

My XAT application has been received, but photo and sign are not uploaded yet.

Also how should we check the XLRI application status?

wait till 10th dec..........for xlri status, you can check only by calling at the helpline no.....

Hey, Himanshu. What is the ratio of engineers to non-engineers in your batch?

After cut-offs ur gd and interview matters, we have people in class wid average acads.
XLRI selections are fair to all, no bias due to past records in selections

Hi Rohan!

While our batch has a high percentage of Engineers, this is not due to any biases on part of the institute. XLRI does not give preference on any grounds (Engineer/Non-Engineer, Work-ex/Fresher etc)... In fact, the only reason why XLRI, and most of the b-schools in India have a high percentage of Engineers is that more of them appear for the entrance exams, and consequently, more of them manage to reach the GD/PI phase..

Also, I think these issues should not be too huge a concern. As Himanshu and others have mentioned before, just focus on giving your best! Rest assured, merit is the only criteria for selection, and everyone gets a fair chance! Please do not think too much about such trivialities, as they are of little importance, these issues will take care of themselves. Just focus on the entrances and GD/PIs for now!

does the xat paper have any known trends or areas that are tested year after year ?
critical reasoning seems to be one such area.
i just want to know if it is anything like the fms paper ( questions copied from last years, sub-standard quant questions and the like? )

maybe people who have gone through papers of the last 6-7 years could throw some light on it ?

There is no General Awareness section in XAT and coming to the essay part, the topic given last year was " asked at the age of 83, as t which of his project would he choose as his master piece, Frank lloyd wright the architect answered the next one"

u have to decide for the answer on the basis

of logic and morality

if u have taken any coaching material

there are sufficient hand-outs provided i guess :lookround:

I have still not received any confirmation from xlri about my status of xat form.
i had send the form on 29th nov only but still no confirmation yet.

There is this book by the name of 101 Ethical Dilemmas... many puys have recommended it, I still have to go through it though :biggrin:
