LOL.....Getting MAD and FRustrated With 2011 XAT....Now sum1 asking About 2012 XAT....Oh God!!!!!!

I have a few queries pertaining to XAT :

1) In CL Mock XATs , we had to write the essay on a page that was at the end of the question paper. Is it the same case with XAT ? Or, we are given a separate page to write the essay and as such allowed to take home the XAT question paper ?

2) Is anything regarding the length of the essay mentioned ?

P.S. - Please reply, only if you are absolutely sure or if you gave the exam last year.

In XAT, you will be given a separate page for the essay once your OMR is collected. The essay should be around 250 words or so.

You will be allowed to take the question paper home.

hi
please help me with some doubts.

i read online that in the xat 2011 there is expected a general awareness section.

and also, that there are no sectional cut off for xat 2011.

is this information true?

There are some soldiers of the Indian military who recently had the esteemed honour of representing their respective units in the presidential parade held in Delhi on Republic Day. It follows that these soldiers got the opportunity to meet the President of the country personally.

Which of the following assumptions makes the argument complete?
1) Everyone who was part of the parade met the President.
2) Representative soldiers from every unit met the President on Republic Day.
3) There were non military groups who were also part of the presidential parade.
4) Only the soldiers of the Indian military were part of the presidential parade.
5)Meeting the president is an honour granted only to military men and women.

my take is (2) but answer is (1) confused... plz help.

obviously answer is one........
if everyone in the parade is allowed to meet the president, then the soldiers who are a part of the parade will also be getting the same chance.

Hey bt its given that
some soldiers ......... had the esteemed honour of representing their respective units..
secondily it mentions "that these soldiers got the opportunity to meet the President of the country personally".

so cant i assume that "Representative soldiers from every unit met the President on Republic Day."

thanks! there most probably wont be a GK section and cut offs are defnitely there.

Shantanu is a team lead in a business process outsourcing firm. His responsibilities include heading a team of seven members who report to him daily and submitting a report of his team performance along with other team leads to the project manager. Lately, a key member of Shantanus team has been reporting directly to the project manager since his responsibilities are critical to the teams function. Although this is a break in the company hierarchy, the project manager seems unconcerned.

How should Shantanu handle this situation?

1) Since the project manager is least bothered, Shantanu should let things continue as they are.
2) Shantanu should reprimand his team member and ask him to adhere to the company hierarchy henceforth.
3) Shantanu should organize a meeting among the project manager, his team member and himself to get things sorted out.
4) Shantanu should let things continue but should ask his team member to keep him in the loop for any communication he does with the project manager.
5) Shantanu should inform the project manager and ask him to take a decision on the matter.

4) Shantanu should let things continue but should ask his team member to keep him in the loop for any communication he does with the project manager.
.

answer will be 4th one .

Option 3 in my view...
option 4 also comes close... but it is unlikely that will be done as the project manager seems to support this...
Option 1 and 5 can be ruled out easily
Option 2 wont solve the issue but rather make the team member go more adverse to him
