Hey Ranjeet...Its a great initiative that u have taken on your part to help prospective candidates..I know ,out of my own experience last year ,how difficult it is to get first hand reliable information about the colleges despite the huge amount of information available on the web.And there can be no better source of information about a college than its current students. So , I will be joining u in dispersing all the information that there is to be known about our college and helping people take informed decisions.
Cheers

If i am right then is it adviceable foe a person who wants to change his field to go for this program ; considering the fact that it is only 1 year . I believe two year program is better suited for a fresher or for a person who wants to change his stream....vat do u think

Yes, we accept CAT 2007 as well as CAT 2008 scores for admission to the 2009-10 batch.
Hi,
as per this previous post, GL will accept the scores for CAT 2007 as well.
What exactly is the procedure for this? will the application forms have an option for considering the CAT 2007 scores? My score was 94.48 percentile.
and a 2-yr work ex with IBM SAP.
Is it enough to clear the cutoff? and does GL consider sectional cutoffs? Are the calls for GDPI given on a profile basis like SP Jain does?
What is the placement scenario? and what kind of job profiles are offered to students?
thanks in advance.
Chinmay.

What is the profile of people opting for Great Lakes? Do you think a person who is from IIT and has completed 4 years of experince in big IT MNCs should go for this college if he wants to make a career switch. What would be the package he can expect after doing 1 yr MBA from GL ? Thanks in Advance.
thanks for the reply...
i will complete my 1 year work ex in sep 2008...
but i saw in site that they are lookin for 2 year work ex..
also wat is this funda about recommendation letter:sarcasm:
Great going Ranjith...
Good initiative to keep the momentum up...
I was just going through the website of GL and found that the placement stats are simply superb. At the cost of sounding like a critic, i would like to state that frankly speaking I have never heard that a college in India (other than IIMs and ISB) is attracting people from such a diverse background and so much of work experience. Are all the figures correct ? You can call me a big doubter but I feel that the figures are inflated. (Another II P -M in the making ??? )
Hi All,
I know there are a lot of questions about Great Lakes. Many are comparing us with ISB, SPJCM and the likes. Some compare us with other wannabe institutions.
If you wanna get a feel of the institution, i suggest you go thru the blog that is TOTALLY written by us students and alumni. There is no censorship there Ofcourse, if we write about a faculty we make it a point to run it by them so as to dispel any issues. But till date we've never had a faculty turn down a blog. It will give you the pulse of the institution. It will dispel any doubts regarding the kind of faculty we get and the teaching methodologies.

Hi Tanuj,
Yes, we accept CAT 2007 as well as CAT 2008 scores for admission to the 2009-10 batch.
We usually prefer candidates with work experience. We also take freshers who have a very good academic record. I would suggest that you get some work experience if you happen to be passing out of B Tech this year. This will help boost your profile and chances of getting shortlisted by the time you apply. In any case, do apply to us because we look at the candidate's entire profile and decide.
Extra curriculars are definitely a bonus. Any achievements at the state level, national level, college level in sports or any other achievement be it academic etc will boost your chances.
Let me know if you have any other queries.
Thanks ranjit

Hi.
I am from the media. I am keen on marketing and am working on some project on the side too. Have a decent academic profile with very good extra cirriculars (All rounder prize, president etc etc). Have 2 yrs work ex right now. Am taking the CAT and maybe the GMAT also.
If the profile is strong, then wat is the cut off likely to be? Are there sect. cut-offs too?
And obviously, forms for GMAt and CAT are separate? The site didnt have any details right now.
Thanks.
