JEE Mains 2016: Online mode finds few takers in Kota


The pen-and-paper mode of JEE Mains 2016 exam on April 3, 2016, saw a high turnout in the coaching capital. In complete contrast, only 177 of the total 384 engineering aspirants, who had registered themselves for this mode, appeared for the round one of JEE Mains Online examination held today. Rest of them are expected to take it tomorrow. 

Aspirants in the coaching capital, who took the computer-based test in Kota, said that Mathematics paper was ‘lengthy’ and ‘tough.’ Some other aspirants found Physics and some Chemistry relatively easier than Mathematics in JEE Mains Online examination held today.

Savita Garg, an aspirant who appeared for Paper 1, said, “The Mathematics paper was lengthy and difficult. Overall the examination was neither tough nor easy as compared to JEE offline examination held earlier this week.” Another aspirant Himanshu Shekhar said, “Physics was tough, Chemistry was easier while Mathematics part was moderate.” Alisha Verma too found Physics difficult. She said, “Mathematics section was lengthy and a time-consuming part.”

Maharishi Arvind Group of Colleges in Ranpur, Kota, was the only examination centre in Kota where the online exam for JEE Mains was held. College authorities informed that 177 aspirants out of the total 192 aspirants took the JEE Mains Online Examination in Paper 1 (B.tech/B.E.) and Paper 2 (B.Arch/B. Planning) today. The other cities in Rajasthan where JEE Mains Online examination was held were Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ajmer, and Bikaner. The second phase of JEE mains 2016 online examination will be held tomorrow as well. Around 11,731 aspirants had appeared the JEE Mains 2016 offline examination at 20 examination centers in Kota on Sunday.
