IRMA Campus Placements 2019

Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) concluded placements for the 38th batch of its flagship PGDRM programme during February 4-9, 2019. The batch of 167 students participating in the campus placements were placed within a record three days’ time.

The average salary offered by business sector organizations stands at Rs. 14.24 lakhs per annum (as against Rs. 12.17 lakhs last year, registering a jump of 17 percent) and that for the development sector organizations (NGOs, cooperatives, and Government Development Agencies) stands at Rs. 10.43 lakhs per annum (as against Rs. 9.47 lakhs last year, registering a jump of 10.72 percent). The median salary stands at Rs. 11.47 lakhs per annum (as against Rs. 10 lakhs last year, showing an increase of 14.7 percent.) The maximum salary has offered is Rs. 50.31 lakhs and the minimum salary consciously chosen by a student in the development sector stands at Rs. 6.20 lakhs.

The placements experienced a substantial increase in the number of overall job offers compared to the previous year. As an indication of the increased engagement of business as well as development sector organizations within the rural space, IRMA received 407 job offers from 119 recruiters for the batch. As many as 28 students received Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) from various organizations.

Like last year, the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) emerged as the single largest recruiter with 20 selections. Cooperatives/Producers Collectives as a sector recruited a total of 32 candidates. Among multinational and national agribusiness corporations, Tolaram, Kewalram (Afriventures), ITC Agribusiness Division, ADM Agro, Godrej Agrovet, National Bulk Handling Corporation, Seedworks, Adani Wilmar, were the most prominent. Recruiters from the FMCG and retail sector included names like Pidilite, Future Group, Grofers, Big Basket, Metro Cash & Carry, Ninjacart, among others.

Other recruiters included banking, finance, and insurance companies such as ICICI Bank, IDFC Bank, Fullerton, Vivriti Capital, Northern Arc, Caspian Impact Investments, ICICI Prudential, Bharati AXA, Reliance General Insurance, along with several small finance banks.

A total of 28 students took up offers made by NGOs, development agencies and CSR foundations. Organizations including UNICEF, Tata Trusts (FISE), Vedanta Foundation, Reliance Foundation, BAIF Development Research Foundation, BRLPS – JEEVIKA, Precision Agriculture for Development, Responsible Mica Initiative, REHWA Society, and Access Livelihoods Consulting (ALC) recruited through the campus placements.
