Goa Class 9th and 11th Board: Eligibility to appear in June Supplementary Exam

Goa Board’s Executive Council has announced that those students who failed in more than 2 subjects in their class 9th and 11th are now eligible to appear for the June supplementary examinations. This is contradicting the process as until now those students could appear who were failed in not more than 2 subjects.

It has been announced by the Goa Board’s Chairman that the detained students will be allowed to appear in the examination. Although students who will still fail in the supplementary will be detained for a year. Students passing the supplementary examination will be allowed to appear for class 10th and class 12th respectively.

This decision will be implemented from the academic year 2020-2021. Students will now be promoted to the higher class even if they fail in more than 2 subjects. Goa Board has taken this step-in order to save the academic year of the students. Board also will be introducing new subjects like astronomy and biotechnology in their curriculum. This will be optional for class 9th and 11th students.
