The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a mock test for the 2016 Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) aspirants. The computer-based mock test is available on JEE Main website. Candidates can log in to the website using their application number and password to take the mock test.
The total duration of the test is 180 minutes, and the clock will be automatically set at the server. The website will display a countdown timer on the screen, which will help the candidates ascertain the remaining time available to answer the questions. At the end of 180 minutes, the answers would be recorded automatically by the website, and the candidates will not be asked to submit them.
Candidates are not required to solve the questions chronologically; they can return to the questions which they left unanswered. Also, the candidates will be allowed to change their answers before finishing the exam. The website has provided an option to the candidates to view all the questions at one go. There is a possibility that not all questions may be multiple choice questions.
There will be only one correct answer to each question. The process of scoring will be the same as it will be in the JEE Main online examination scheduled on April 9 and 10, 2016. Every correct answer carries four marks, whereas each incorrect response to a question will deduct one-fourth mark. If no answer is given, no marks will be deducted.
The mock text can be viewed in English as well as in Hindi. The mock test is divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, having 30 questions each. Meanwhile, aspirants must note that the question paper displayed on the JEE Main website is for practise purposes only, and it should not be mistaken as a sample paper.
