13 percent of MAT aspirants opt for the online version

4000 out of a total of 30000 students who have registered for the Management Aptitude Test or MAT have chosen the online option; a number that amounts to a little more than 13 percent.

MAT has been scheduled to be held in around 30 cities starting September 6th, 2009. The paper based test will be held on September 6 while the computer based one will be held over a period of time starting September 7th, 2009. According to Wg Cdr V S Bejoy (Retd), Director, Center for Management Services, All India Management Association, the online test has been pulled down in 10 cities (out of the scheduled 30) due to the number of registrations for online test version being less than 200 students (cut-off for the minimum number of students who should register in a particular city for the test to be held online). The students in such cities will have to travel to the nearest city to take the exam online; not an encouraging situation for a country wanting to go big on the online scenario.
