volunteer required for NGO in gurgaon

I was getting quite a few queries regarding ways people can volunteer so thought of listing here itself.

Currently we are running three initiatives in parallel.All of them are in and around sec 56 gurgaon.

1.A school for slum kids.We have employed two teachers -one for junior class and other for senior class.The kids of senior class after attaining a minimum level are moved on to the government school.

ways people can volunteer-
a)helping out the weak kids who are lagging behind in the class by taking extra sessions
b)taking workshops on saturdays where they can teach stuff which is not there in the normal curriculum like drawing,teaching a bit of science,sports etc etc.
c)gauging the performance of kids admitted in govt. school and making sure they have everything that they need.

2.A computer center in a govt. school.We teach computers to kids there on saturday and a weekday.So you can also volunteer for this.

3.Computer vocational training for adults.This has been started a week back.As of now there is not much scope for volunteering here.

This is broadly what we are doing as of now.And hopefully we will continue taking more and more initiatives.

Even if some1 wants to start something similar at his/her place you can contact me for any kinda advice.I will try my best to be of some help.

Hello people.

I am currently associated with a NGO which teaches underprivileged kids in gurgaon.Now we have collaborated with a government school to start computer center there.The center will be for kids of 3rd and 4th class.For this we need a volunteer who can come and teach computers for 2-3 days per week.Please PM me if anyone is interested to volunteer for this .

P.S. The center is near sector 55 gurgaon.The requirement is for a volunteer and is not a paid position

hello puys...i am from Navi mumbai.Yesterday i got a
message that one of my childhood friend (working
with Genpact,Delhi as team lead) who was suffering from cancer and had
undergone chemotherapy is again having some complications. The doctor
suggested bone marrow transplant. As the funds for his familiy have dried up during
his earlier treatment, I thought what better than pg to seek help. I would be really thankfull if you can help me

As per your above post u are a part of a NGO in gurgaon which is helping the poor people/children.
I too live in gurgaon have a lot of free time on weekends and m really want to help people.

Professionally I m a Software Engineer and have a fairly good knowledge of computers.

Guys, check out since how long this thread has been inactive!!

The last post was made on 10th June 2010 i.e. one year back and you're replying saying that you want to participate to posts even before that!!

Also, one more thing, its against PG rules to post personal info like email ID, phone number etc in the forums. Its for your own good, to avoid disturbing calls from credit card companies, some product companies, some unknown MBA schools etc

So whoever posted their email ID's it will be better if you edit and remove those!

I have been involved with a volunteer driven organization in gurgaon for the past 2 years. It is the gurgaon chapter of an all india volunteer driven organization. We have 5 projects currently running across Gurgaon in various sectors like sector 14, sector 23, sector 45, sector 39.
