I didnt get an interview call rather I was invited for a chat with a second year student on Dec 13. Probably based on this conversation they will evaluate my application...
I had my interview this week with the admissions team. It lasted for about 35 min.
The interviewer asked me the usual questions - Why MBA, my goals, my professional experiences. At the end, I asked few questions about the program and the university. Before signing off, he mentioned that the school would convey its decision on my application either by this Saturday or in January.
Did anyone else receive interview notifications/were interviewed? How was your experience?
Hi nmmbaabroad in the illinois site it was mentioned that the interview will also have a case study... Were you asked any case question? What was it?.. I am scheduled for an interview on January 4... How many people were in the panel?

I got a reject yesterday. Very disappointed as i was hoping to convert this one..
I had one informal audio skype session 2 weeks ago with 2 questions about why mba and why illinois. She said the team would get back in 3-4 weeks.

Yes, as mentioned in one of the information sessions, there was a case question that i had to answer. It was related to business strategy. One of the members of the adcom interviewed me. All the best for your interview!

I received an acceptance e-mail from the admissions team today. :biggrin:
As I continued reading the e-mail, I came to know that I was awarded scholarship.
After waiting through last week, I was not expecting any update from the school until the first week of Jan. Very happy and excited!!

I am planning on applying to UIUC's MBA program, my question is regarding the application fee. I'd like to pay it online if possible, how do I pay the $90 application fee? I have an HDFC credit card but that is an Indian credit card, i.e. not a dollar based card. I contacted the bank and they told me this card can't be used to pay dollar amounts.
How is everyone going about paying the application fee?

I think you can use any credit card to pay in dollars irrespective of it being an Indian bank card. If its an Indian card, the bank would deduct the required amount in rupees + the surcharge for foreign transaction, if any. I used ICICI card for paying the application fee.

Just done with my interview.. The interviewer asked general questions, like why MBA now, why illinois, some questions on professional experience and some questions on personal. Also had a case interview... Overall the interview lasted for 25 mins... Now the dreadful wait for the results starts... Any more people with interview calls?
Applied on 14th Nov and got dinged w/o interview on 21st December 😞
