Alright people. I hate to do this as it means I’ve screwed up. But anyways, I’ve started this exclusive thread for all you people to vent your anger at the beautiful text editor that I’ve made. There will be a complete re-write and I’m looking for…

Alright people. I hate to do this as it means I've screwed up. But anyways, I've started this exclusive thread for all you people to vent your anger at the beautiful text editor that I've made. There will be a complete re-write and I'm looking for all sorts of complaints or bugs or features that you want. So go ahead, spam me.

the texteditor is not cute enough. make it pink please :mg:

Reduce un-necessary controls.


1) Paste/Link/img - all three are redundant and can be managed within the content area itself
2) When people paste multiple image URLs in the content area, get all of them and parse em
3) Spacing. Spacing. Spacing.
4) CTRL is disabled. But that stops us from doing CTRL + SHIFT selects.
5) Rework the attachment system to be more intuitive
6) Mouse pointer should be visible on depressed state of B/I/U
7) Solve the general mess around complex quotes.

two main problems I face are

1) CTRL - please give us control to control shortcuts

2) Please activate atleast bold feature for quoted part . it will be easy for highlighting ..

others :

3) some options for other font - I know this wont be implemented .. but still saying 😁

i have posted this earlier also that when we want to quote posts from diff pages it becomes quite irritating

kindly do something about that

1. Ctrl key misbehaves.
2. "Enter" does not necessarily end up in giving a next line when post finally post finally appears
3. More Smileys!! I understand that blatant use of them causes confusion and seems untidy at times...but please at least add some of the famous old ones! (Vampire one, my fav, and :2guns: 😛 )
4. When using "at"( cannot make the sign here, it just disappears 😞 ) to tag people from the text field, it is verrrrry slow to give the suggestions. Compared to the text field in pings, its a nightmare

This is wasn't supposed to take out the whole control button, I hereby proclaim that to be my top priority. I love the button... umm.. moving on

Bold within quotes -> this is very fixable. Will talk to @pranjal.kumar about the css

I can give you fonts. How about Dingbats and more sans serif? On a more serious note, it's technically possible, though all "looky feely" things go through @pranjal.kumar . All I do are square boxes in shades of grey, dark grey and darker grey...

... speechless... ummm... wait.... I.. will see what can be done. But now that I think of it, it should be a standard feature. I shall toil and burn all my midnight oil ( at @pagalguy 's expense ofcourse ) to make this a reality for you my friend.

I am keen to see how you pull off multi page quote without it being a pain in the UI :mg:

Yep, as @pagalguy so eloquently put it, "spacing spacing spacing" will be firmly dealt with.

I'm looking at
this magnificent beast for @deepu . If that one goes through, I see no reason why vampire dude can't be brought back

pasting is a very controversial issue. More often than not it is the major reason why my wysiwyg becomes a wysiNOTwyg

By blocking CTRL looks like we fubared CTRL B, CTRL I, CTRL U .. oh dang.

umm... unfortunately, almost all 3 combos were already fubared in the sense that some browsers tend to think of them as personal possessions and have assigned them as browser shorcuts. Try ctrl+b in firefox and their glorious bookmarks tab opens up.
