The text editor

And smileys cannot be pasted 😁

pasting is a very controversial issue. More often than not it is the major reason why my wysiwyg becomes a wysiNOTwyg

1. Tagging people in edit mode after posting something
2. More smileys
3. Strikethrough

By blocking CTRL looks like we fubared CTRL B, CTRL I, CTRL U .. oh dang.

umm... unfortunately, almost all 3 combos were already fubared in the sense that some browsers tend to think of them as personal possessions and have assigned them as browser shorcuts. Try ctrl+b in firefox and their glorious bookmarks tab opens up.

Alright, it's seemingly going well. 2 more components and we should be good to go people. Your troubles will soon come to a halt.

How to multi quote when posts are not on same page?

The quoted text is neither cut nor it is copied...

@jibi.abraham

@lay_man Right now, quoting from multiple pages is not supported directly. You could try copy pasting into notepad and then back into the editor ( on the site ) for now. I'm working on a solution to see if I can make it less painful.

And now if I can figure out a file upload solution, we'll be good to go people

@jibi.abraham we await thee
@pagalguy It's done boss. There's some nitty gritty left to glue it all together with the forum, but the editor as an entity is officially done :)

I'll be posting a full list of features and a guide tomorrow. As of now though, you won't be able to post with attachments, you can test it though.

The next iteration is due tomorrow afternoon ( read 12 pm ). Features to expect
1. Sticky control keys -> Fancy way of saying that the controls ( bold, italic, underline and strikethrough ) will behave like those in gmail.
2. Enable attachments.
3. Enable the new editor in edit mode.
4. Better smiley insertion, will move the cursor to immediately after the smiley ( this was an oversight on my part.. )

I've kept the "@" part in the mentions. Figured it looked more semantic, anyone prefer it without the extra character?
