The Art of writing SOP

Please review my SOP and help me to improvise with your suggstions.

Accompanying my father in his business since childhood stirred an intrinsic thought of value addition to the product which is indispensable in today’s customer centric market and that pushed me to do my Bachelor’s in Business Management with Computer Applications from a top ranked college (NAAC “A” Grade) in India by NIRF. This has cultivated me much about the peculiar aspects of startups, business, administering the finance effectively and importance of personnel management. My college days doesn’t end up with the case studies on papers and researches, I placed consecutive awards on Expo held our college and that motivated me to start a business. During my second year of college I started my own Mobile Shop after getting enough knowledge on a 6 month’s diploma course on troubleshooting gadgets and I successfully leaded it for 2 years. As a managerial student I understood the importance of exploring the corporate business, so I actively participated in the placement. I leaded my department in the final year placement cell and set a record of scoring IInd highest offers for my department. Among my offers I had chosen to start my career in Larsen and Toubro Construction Limited. I was deputed on a construction site at Porbandar, Gujarat. As a guy from south India I find challenging to cope up with the local languages at first, yet I saw the opportunities for leaning new culture and language. There I worked as a Workmen HR Assistant and Accounts Supervisor for 1.8 years where my key responsibilities include maintaining harmony industrial relations, ensuring effective cash flows, budgeting and cost control, vendor, sub-contractor and inventory management.  During my tenure in L&T, Porbandar I initiated many cost trimming plans and I successfully executed it with the help of the site management which ultimately resulted in the 20% reduction on indirect costs due to which I got an opportunity to work at Headquarters for some months. Being a frontline officer I effectively managed the disputes among workmen, convincing the clients and government officials and making timely payments to the vendors and suppliers, maintaining transport facilities and follow-up with the suppliers for timely delivery of materials and assisting the management in timely completion of the project. At some point I found a need of an update to equip myself for the global market and its future aspects, and hence I decided to gain an in-depth knowledge about the futuristic market. So I made a short stop to my job career decided to do my master’s.  The reason behind choosing Logistics and Supply Chain management lies on the importance of reaching the focused market at right time with the proper channel with some values added to it. The client (Customer) is ready to spend few more pennies for the timely delivery of materials and services which most of the vendors lost their orders and credibility for these things. I even wondered that transportation cost for some products are more than the production cost and the marketers is still finding an effective way to make their product reach to its customer’s hand. Creating and maintain an optimal supply chain plays a vital role for every size of business to always be ahead and hold its customers. The present and future scope behind these things urged me to gain an in-depth knowledge to create an ecofriendly and sustainable supply chain. The market has reached the mars already and I find doing masters in abroad is ideal thing to explore the global market rather than studying in domestic. The United Kingdom being the global leader in MBA  and I strongly believe that your University will provide me the keys to new doors and the networks of peoples who range in this industry. I can strongly assure that I will match to the high standards of your University and I will leave a positive footprint of your University at all endeavors of my career. I would be grateful, if I am accorded the opportunity to pursue my higher education in your esteemed University

Hi! Can I start my SOP with a question like 'Has something inspired you so much that you can't stop thinking about it?" Please help on this :)

Hi!!

How's below as an SOP for IIMV. Need urgent feedback. Need to submit by tomorrow:

The quotation I live my life by is “Don’t stop, till the breathe goes missing, keep walking, keep learning, keep contributing”.

Having been brought up in a business family, I have been familiar with the daily hassles of running one, be it even on a small scale. Inspired by my father’s business skills, I was always drawn towards entrepreneurship and developed an inclination towards learning core business ethics. This drew me to explore venture building.

In my teenage, I collaborated to started daily "Prarthana" sessions for kids of semi-slum area where we taught them interpersonal skills and organized various competitions thus instilling self confidence in them which helped in their overall growth. In my college, I started an NGO - JOSH with the aim to help the needy. Although, it started on a good note, but couldn't sustain for long. I also started a Coaching Class, but couldn’t continue it for long time.

These experiences taught me that any venture accompanies ups and downs and hence proper management skills are required at every stage for its success. I too committed mistakes but these exposures helped me polish my ability to struggle and rise further with step by step improvisations on previous downfalls.

In my school days, I was never expected to be a meritorious student and by not joining any tuition classes for Boards' Exam further fueled this. But I did not let my dream of being a Merit Rank Holder die and with perseverance, willpower, and motivation, I studied hard and became the School Topper.

I currently working as a Product Lifecycle Management Consultant. My role is to help our clients in optimizing the lifecycle of the products they manufacture. From this experience, I have learnt to be more productive and work under pressure with better time management. I performed well and was elevated to lead teams in thus giving me insight into Project Management in Corporate World. My peers compliment me by saying that optimistic outlook, dedication and optimal planning have led me in delivering good results. Our organization is also looking to patent one of the solution which was conceptualized by a team led by me.

My next objective is to build a career with apt skills and formal training in management to reduce failures and minimizations of risks for both the organization and own self. I am looking forward to grow and be equipped with the productive finesse of corporate field. My thirst towards exploring new sides of corporate and managerial roles requires me to be nurtured with teachings of effective lessons on administration. A course in management from a good B-School like IIMV is one such learning ladder to help me be more proficient in these skills and ultimately equip me with the necessary people and operational skills along with the conceptual knowledge necessary for a manager in the dynamic business scenario. It will help network with best brains of the country from diverse backgrounds and get guidance from faculties who are experts in the field.

I yearn to be an entrepreneur in future and with a belief that compassionate business can help in social upliftment I want to achieve this through my enterprise. In my career, in all my capabilities, I want to create an ecosystem wherein there is all round growth of not only the organization but also of the people who are part of it.

My family and friends hold a great importance in my life. Nothing satisfies me more than when I am able to boost-up someone who is feeling demoralized or under confident.

I have always been interested in adding value to my persona hence has been motivated towards developing new skills. Be it learning classical music or participating in numerous competitions. I have been regular member in a lot of organizing committees throughout my career. Apart from being Student Body President, I was also involved in Magazine committee and was also Student Training Placement Coordinator. Persistence and determination were the keys which did bring me some laurels but at large, they helped me acquire important sustainable skills in life.

Hi. This is my FMS SOP -

It would be great if someone can review it and let me know what to edit. Thanks a ton! :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All parents dream of a bright future for their children. Mine are no different. Driven by their faith in me, I started building my goals and ambitions at an early stage in my life. The path from a school kid to a professional Chartered Accountant came with a lot of external and internal challenges. However, the one of the many things I am proud of, despite everything that was changing around me, is consistently good academic performance. I was driven towards success like a moth to a flame.

My first step in the corporate world was at the young age of 18. I joined PricewaterhouseCoopers, a Big Four CA firm, to pursue my 3-year articleship in the field of Audit. Working for a company that is known to be best at what they do, not just in India, but also globally gave me a real world glimpse of the world of Finance. The firm did not just teach me how an audit is performed but also the technical aspects behind it. For example,I learnt how the same accounting entry can be passed in so many different ways, depending on the transaction and the accounting standards and laws governing such transactions. Being in the field of Audit also makes you very skeptical and prone to ask too many questions. My curious mind was never satisfied without asking the clients and my senior such questions.

Pursuing a PDGM in Finance will complement my technical skills with management and business acumen.

Can Someone please advice me in writing SOP for FMS, I am a Commerce fresher with little to no record in extra-curricular activities. It would be of great help.

Please provide respones for the mentioned.

FMS SoP Evaluation:

I want to grow in my career and hold high positions of management. This way I can contribute more usefully and make a bigger impact from the business perspective. A career in management will also help me in meeting my full potential.

After completing B. Tech in 2016,I was placed with Cognizant and worked there as a Programmer Analyst for nearly 2 years.During this period,I have learnt few aspects of Tech consulting and my focus have been shifted from a purely technical perspective to a business perspective. My work revolved in  making proposal for the clients ,matching the needs to the products they want to offer and their relevance . After  gaining  exposure  to  different  team  management  skills  and  having  formulated  the  strategy  task  assigned,  now  i  want  to  gain  sufficient  management  knowledge  thereby  serve  as  the  catalyst  in  the   growth  and  aspire  to  be  the  part  of  management  team.

I now want to do a full-time MBA from a top B-School such as FMS to gain wider exposure to all fields of management. This will also acquaint me with different sectors of the business world and expose me to real business problems through case studies, project work and interaction with the industry.

Anyone kindly  evaluate.

SOP for FMS, Please evaluate

When I completed my B.tech in Civil Engineering. I didn’t feel satisfied. I know that feeling was not good when you have completed your engineering. Although my Engineering degree has given a strong foundation to my analytical skills since civil engineering involves a lot of long, complex and intricate calculations and the application of basic math skills. But my interest is already started tilting towards management. It all started when I helped one of my old tuition teacher in setting up his own coaching centre, from that experience I learnt the importance of management skills, and later on I have started working part time with my father in his business, my role was to manage the service operators and look after the online promotion of the company with the help of digital marketing. In college I was also a part of the team for organizing technical festival. All of these various experiences inculcated my interest more towards management and now I have realized the importance of planning, dividing work among members, communication, monitoring and coordination. I now want to have a formal education in management from a top B-School like FMS. This will acquaint me with the world of business deeply and also expose me to more complex business problems through case studies, projects and with industrial interaction. Learning under the guidance of experienced faculty of FMS and in the company of peers from different educational background and cultural backgrounds would indeed widen my horizons and prepare me for the corporate world and for life too.

Hi Pls evaluate someone :)

SOP for FMS

Post my engineering studies, I joined Bharti Airtel, through the 'Young Technical Leader' (YTL) program as a Senior Executive, Kerala Circle, in 2016. In May 2017, I was promoted as Assistant Manager, Radio Planning and was transferred to MP & CG circle.
My Job responsibility included formulating strategies for effective traffic handling, designing solutions for resolving capacity and coverage issues and managing vendor teams for timely implementation of proposed solutions. Often developing solutions, would require analyzing large volumes of data which would consume time and resources. My focus has always been on process improvement and developing innovative solutions for the problems, and therefore I started developing automation tools to increase efficiency. I was recognized for my performance in the corporate office and was awarded Kudos points in MPCG circle. Apart from network planning, I have worked with marketing and sales team to analyze device ecosystem and consumer usage behavior data and develop a strategy based on it. This cross-functional exposure has taught me the importance of thinking from different dimensions to the same problems to find a practical solution. Therefore, I feel that MBA will help me develop a holistic approach and a broader perspective. Also, an MBA will help me improve focus on quality, attention to detail, personal and professional presentation capabilities, all of which are essential qualities of a successful life. By pursuing an MBA from FMS Delhi, I hope to gain from the collective wisdom of an experienced faculty and a diverse peer group.

Hi all,

I gave a short, poorly written and a very straightforward answer to "why MBA" in my IIM L form. Will it impact negatively during my PI?
