In many state PSU upgrading grade pay from 4200 to 4600/4800. Any person in that Gradepay will leave and join IMD(gp 4200) that has less promotion chances and all india transfer for every 2-3 years... Is that decision to step out from higher gp to lower gp is good?

SA-IMD vs TA vs DELHI-SI CPO Promotion Aspects of IMD-SA: General and Obc candidates will need atleast 7-8 years to get 1st promotion. In 70% cases you will be working 6 days a week, 25% cases 7days a week, and in 5% cases 5 days a week..though the work will be less but the quality of life will be constant only, no improvement. Posting in all India, rural area also. Whereas TA 2800gp will get promoted 4200gp in maximum 3-4years and the next promotion to 4600gp in next 3-4 years and you will have a balanced life as working is of 5 days, Sat & Sun will be holiday. The work will be more than that of SA but the quality of life will progress with time, not constant. Posting in all India, sometimes rural. Whereas DELHI-SI CPO will be the best option to join as for the lifetime you will be in Delhi only, good salary perks, power in your hands, powerful & rich contacts, the work will create a pressure on you half of the time but you will be happy for sure, the quality of the life will be the best and will improve time to time...and yes good opportunity to make good amount of money without even asking anyone. Posting in Delhi only. Good for your children education in the future. If you are thinking of preparing for UPSC or state PSU's, then you should know that only 5% students will be able to study for that.. Other will stop preparing after sometime & get demotivated because a person will study only when he/she get the environment which he/she will not get in IMD. So, choose wisely. So, joining preferences should be: 1. DELHI-SI CPO 2. TA (if you are getting home state or nearby homestate otherwise prefer IMD-SA) 3. IMD-SA From last recruitment of SA in IMD in 2011, nearly 50-70 SA( out of 450 SA) have resigned their jobs due to (no promotion) or (late promotion) or (far distance posting for 4-5 years continuously) or (no improvement in quality of life, only constant).
