State allocation should be on merit basis, we all agree with that but IMD is not doing anything unfair by using lottery system. The post carries AISL and lottery system is also fair. Morever, toppers belong to the country not to a particular region. Also North India is not the best place to serve. Now, when Delhi is burning at 40 degrees, in Guwahati temperature is around 30 degrees and it rains almost every day. Winters are also not so cold like in Northern India. Serving a few years outside home state should be considered an opportunity to gain new experiences.

Today was my dv...let me tell u the process 1. U enter the gate..show your Id...u shall be given an id card 2.u go to a hall..u shall be asked to fill forms...there shall be people to guide u....don't worry about mistakes 3. Then u are asked to wait in auditorium... There are 5 boards..each shall check 20 students....there is a facility for photocopy but u shall have to ask the concerned officer for that 5.photocopy and original document shall be asked in pair..... 6.then the lottery shall take place( I got Himachal Pradesh) 7.take the lottery chit to your board and fill it...finished

In my opinion, Hill stations and other tourist spots are good for casual visits only and not for permanent stay. In Shimla there is water crisis and locals are asking tourists not to visit for a few days. Any opinions.
