31st Aug 1st batch paper many said 170-180 attempts. Is it possible that we may have a radically higher cut-off this year(say ~150/160)?

I don't think the cutoff will go beyond 130 even for General.
Yes, the paper seems to be easy. Yes, a lot of people are going to get 160-170, even 190. Someone has to top it, right?
What we are forgetting is:
1. A lot of people also give the test as a fluke to see if they make it through.
2. You are only looking within your friend circle and PagalGuy crowd. Most people here have studied very hard. You ignore the crowd from point no. 1
3. Attempts is not everything. If you get 10 questions wrong, your 160 expected marks suddenly become 135. Huge difference.
4. All kinds of people including those who were not well prepared will give it. There is a huge section of people who will score 100 and a huge section of people who will score 160. It will normalize in between.
5. It's in our nature to overestimate our scores. :)
So, chill and give your exam the best you can. Remember Tier 1 is used to filter out relaxed candidates from serious candidates, so the cutoff won't go to 150-160.
