Hello guys. I've been inactive in this discussion for a long time but today I am sharing my GK strategy that could help you in scoring good marks (ignore if you are already doing well). Before starting, I would like to tell you that I am a General category candidate with around 200 rank in CGL. I was average in quant but did well in GK (35+) and English (for those who try to criticize people for sharing their strategy without even knowing them). Grammar Nazis, stay away. Galatiyan sabse hoti hain.
*For GK*
Only 2 books- Lucent's GK, Kiran's prev yeat GK chapterwise and PDFs of GK modules available on sscadda.com. That's it.
First analyze about the chapters that are important from the point of view of scoring. Eg. Science, polity etc since many questions are asked from these topics. Kiran's book will give you an overview of last years' papers then set your priorities. Now, start reading that chapter in Lucent and when I say read, don't try mugging it up. Just read. After reading that particular chapter, you could also go through sscadda module of that chapter. Then, you should start solving prev year questions of that chapter only. Ques about which you have no idea, mark them with a circle or any other mark. Complete the chapter. Then next chapter in the priority list. Same process. This could be done for all imp topics in 3-4 weeks if you give your best. After you have completed all imp topics, start revising kiran's questions that you have marked and sscadda modules. Dont go for new sources and booka as it will only confuse you. Revise what you have read.
Making priority chapter list is very imp here. I strongly recommend you to read sscadda science and economics modules as lucent is of not much help in these topics. Remember one thing, dont try to mug everything up. Just read it. You will get to revise tough questions in revision. Now its up to you how you follow your strategy.
