I have a question regarding selection process in SSC CGL. Requesting experienced folks to kindly clarify. 😄
Say the cut off to a certain XYZ post is 425. Vacancy is 1.
Candidate A has secured 450 aggregate marks, and candidate B has secured 445 - i.e. A is higher on the merit list.
However, XYZ is the first post preference of B, and the second preference of A.
Question : Will A get the job (i.e. candidate higher on the merit list will be alotted a seat before moving on to lower candidates), or will B get the job (i.e. all people who have cleared the cut off and have the job as 1st pref will be considered first)?
