Essay on demonetisation (Suggestion, crticism welcome)
The PM of India stunned the nation by his announcement of demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupee notes on Nov8, 2016. This step was taken to curb black money, contain infaltion, avoid tax evasion and prevent counterfeting of notes for funding terrorist activities.
Prior to this, several steps were taken like opening of bank accounts for every individual under PMJDY scheme to ensure people can use banking methods in times of cash crunch. Income Disclosure Scheme was introduced to provide a chance to black money hoarders to come clean of their income in return of tax penalty.
Demonetization was the first step towards cashless economy as people adopted e-payment methods for transaction during the cash crunch period. Poor people who mostly save in form of cash, deposited their savings in bank and will be able to enjoy savings rate. This brought back huge money into banks and thus enabled them to lower interest rates. PAN was made mandatory for denomination exchange of more than Rs 50,000 and income-tax ivestigation was called for deposits of above 2,50,000. This move will also help to reduce tax evasion by rich people who deflate their income while filing income tax and thereby brining more people under the tax-net.
However, there were many a demeretits to this move as this caused inconvinience to many people who had to queue up for long hours in banks and ATMs. Daily wagers were worst hit as their employers could not pay them beacuse of cash shortage. Agriculture sector suffered as most of the transaction is done by cash. Many people managed to convert their black money into real estate, gold or to accounted money via poor people's accounts which marred the efficiency of this move.
Inspite of its cons, this move is likely to bring long-term benefits to the nation by paving the path for a structured, robust economy and will be a deterrent to social malices like corruption and terrorism in future.

With 567 I have 1100 aao rank.. 505( no. Of general vacancies) rank has 589 marks...its difficult to take a leap of 20 marks... unless lot of same people in top 1000 are in both lists. I.e. in aao and well as without aao.
