It is an umbrella programme of many ongoing digital schemes like jandhan yojana , smart city project , Startup india, make in india , digilocker scheme etc. The focus of government is to provide all potential digital service in real time to all peoples.
But all these objectives faces many challenges too. Still we have lck of infrastructure to provide such a large platform to all for e-servces . Also people are very apprehensive about e-finance system as this is stil vulnerable to cyber attack. Digital illiteracy is another big challenge. Moreover , government restricted FDI in national open fibre network so small e-commerce companies cannot seek capital .
Through a comprehensive plan , detailed strategy and clear aim , we can acheive the feat of digitalisation. Our government plans to develop broadband highways , ensure universal acces to phonesand provide e-governance. Also, government target to net zero import of electronic items until from 2018. Financial inclusion and digital payment become even more important after the introduction of demonetoization.
Hence digital india is a very sophisticated mixture of various schemes aimed at digitalising the country. As beople become more aware about the plans , this plan is going to fruit in a few years. A more accessible and transparent governance through this programme could provide better socioeconomilc society.
