Dear friends, I've seen many of your posts expressing your discontent and doubts regarding 11K general students out of 149K The calculation is 70% seats are reserved 30% is open for fair competition. The % of people under UR category is 30% (Yes! 70% are reserved) Hence, in the open category 70% gets their seats under fair competition ie 70%×30% = 21% 30-21 = 9% Hence for a fair practice and considering intelligence is equally bestowed upon reserved and UR population, the UR people will always be around 9% It's simple maths. I know 11/149 =7% which is lower than 9% and that is doubtful for me too. The reason why this happens is, misunderstanding of Reservation System and  Supreme Court directions. The Reservation System means the reservation must be given by population. But the way it's being practiced is, the UR is being filled first by fair practice and then UR population is being disqualified fir the rest 70%. This has led to under representation of UR people from 30% to less than 9% in govt and PSU jobs. I would request my friends to please file a PIL if they can and sort out the calculation mistake, by ranking 70% of the reserved and then ranking the 30% UR and allotting them separately. #copied!!
