My post copied from another fb group:

We all know that CBEC has taken a lot of time to allot states in CGL 2013. CGL 2013 result was announced in March 2015 and it took 6 months for them to do a simply task of allotting states. They are yet to conduct physical/medical. So, it will take a minimum of another 2-3 months for the aspirants to get appointment order. This is causing a huge financial trouble for those who are desperate to get a Govt. job. In 2013, there were a meagre 1100 candidates in CEX. Even that has taken 6+ months (still counting, most probably 9 months). In CGL 2014, there were around 4300 CEis selected that is four times that of CGL 2013. If the current lethargic trend of CBEC officials continues, then appointment through CGL2014 will take several years (though some internal sources in Board told me that Department of Revenue has given a deadline of March 2016). The Government had sanctioned the vacancies but the joining takes a lot of time due to the irresponsible behavior of CBEC officials.

Hopefully, the dossiers of CGL 2014 candidates will reach CBEC Board from SSC regional offices in one month and its up to CBEC to allot states as fast as possible. We should do something to pressurize the CBEC officials to perform the task properly rather than wasting our time in expecting the tortoise to win the race. so, the power of 4000+ candidates is huge and we need to make full use of that. Hence, send as many representations as possible to CBEC Chairman and Member (P&V). Unless we do so, CBEC will not do any work. Please send your own representation. You are doing it for urself. Dont think that others will send and your single representation is not that important. If all the candidates think like you, no representation will be sent.

The Chairman of CBEC is Najib Shah. He was working as Commissioner of Central excise in Coimbatore some 12 years back and most of my Superintendents told me that he was a very considerate person and even asks a MTS about the problems faced by them in day-to-day work and I am sure that this honest gentlemen will help us to secure appointment as soon as possible. State allocation can be done within 15 days if 5-6 Tax Assistants are deputed for that work. i dont think, it is a heinous task.It is delayed solely due to the recklessness of CBEC officials.

So, I request you to send at least a single speed post to CBEC Chairman by name. i.e.

Shri Najib, IRS
Chairman, CBEC,
North block,
New Delhi -110001

&

Ms. Vanaja N. Sarna, IRS
Member Personnel & Vigilance ,
CBEC Board,
North Block,
New Delhi- 110001.

Please dont hesitate to spend Rs.40/- because you are loosing Rs.40K + amount as salary every month.

Will we have to do walking and cycling in physical test as mentioned in the notification??
Ans: Walking and cycling have to be done. But they are just formalities. Its just a fun. In my batch, since the bi-cycles supplied are not in good condition, the chain of the cycles got cut. Even then the candidates are not disqualified tongue emoticon
(Candidates need not fear)

- Medical examination will be done in Home state or from where we will get joining??A proforma with your name and the details of your employer will be given to you at the time of Document Verification by the department. You have to take this to a Civil surgeon. He will take some $$$ and give you fitness certificate mentioning your height, weight & some other details. Color Blindness, eye vision, flat foot, etc., will not be checked (This is the procedure in Chennai Region. Don't have any idea about other regions)- Any idea, when we will be joining of 2014 batch, is possible??Purely depends on the CBEC Board. I don't think they will delay like what they did for CGL 2013 batch. If the state allocation is done and the dossiers reach the corresponding zones, the zones will expedite the joining process because of the staff crunch. Its upto CBEC Board to allocate states faster and send the dossiers to zones as soons as possible.

- Which zone is better in south india?? And which zone can north student to choose, if posted in Southern region???
Hyderabad and Bangalore are good for work culture. Promotion in Chennai zone is improving a lot. In Chennai zone, many inspectors are trying for ICT and many would resign to take up jobs in successive CGLs. This increases the scope for junior inspectors. Hyderabad is known for processing transfer requests faster than any other Southern states. Work culture is good in Hyderabad. Bangalore is a pleasant city to live. Kochi is not as good as the above.
1. Hyderabad
2. Bangalore
3. Chennai
4. Kochi
This order will be ideal.

- How is the job profile of CEI and power?? Working hours and other perks??
This question cannot be answered in one or two lines as like previous questions. It is better to refer several websites that has information about Powers, job profile and working hours of CEI.
For more information:
http://www.ssctube.com/.../everything-about-central-excise-i.../
http://www.sscnaukari.in/.../some-myth-and-facts-about-excise...

- Do CEI get transfer in different, if he/she does not want it?? Or is it possible to get transfer in home state without losing seniority??
Seniority will be lost once you get transferred to home state or any other state.
