Guys one Physics conceptual question.

Suppose this is a broken bridge A=======B-----------------------C=======D

Where -------- denotes the broken part (i.e. BC) Assume ABCD to be perfectly straight.
Let the distance BC be d units.

Assume AB and CD to be any length as per convenience.

A car starts from A and it can only traverse horizontally. What should be the minimum speed of car (in units/sec) so that it can just cross the bridge BC. (meaning it's motion should be perfectly horizontal for the distance BC ).

Is it a gravityless environment ? :wow: How is it possible to traverse horizontal in air ?
If there is no gravity, then, no atmosphere, => no air drag.. => minimum velocity is very close to zero.. I think I am over thinking, but well, I

Is this related to CAT ? :P

Nothing to do with CAT and not gravityless either. But if we assume the speed to be very large as compared to the small distance BC then maybe it's possible to cross?

How is it possible to move horizontally ? :O

Won't it fall off due to Gravity..!! Ab yeh mat kehna that we had to assume Zero Gravity hai. :P
Aisa hoga tab toh almost zero velocity se kaam chal jaega. :splat:

Momentum?:/ mere dimaag mai aise visualisations aa rahe hai, :mg:suppose it's a tiny gap, a little more tha the width of the tyre, then if the car is crawling along , it'll still get stuck there, but if its moving at a high speed it probably wont :/ par physics nai aata, to randomly Bol rahi hu :splat:

Thinking practically. Suppose you have a gun instead of a car. and the distance BC is about 1m.
IF we keep the gun at BC horizontally and Fire, won't the bullet cross C? Similarly The car should also be able to make it through at some speed S?

Exactly.

exactly that's what I mean. So there should be a minimum speed S depending on the mass m and distance d.

I was trying to establish a relation between m,d, s and probably the air drag. Thought of equating the normal reaction to 0 but didn't end up with anything.
@Estallar12
kyu bhai...agar tu ek projectile bana ke gaadi ko uda de toh...projectile ka concept nhi pade hoon kya bituwa??
A========BC========D
Lo aise ho jayega bridge cross...

Bhai kyu IRODOV khol ke question dedia...CAT ki tayyari kar rhe h...shanti se karne de... le aish kar...

Lekin the motion should be horizontal here. Not a trajectory. Even if it is, it's curve should be neglegible. A bullet won't follow a trajectory for example..

In that case the force with which the car will travel shud be greater than the gravity pull

Yes the acc of the car a >> g. but still what will be the equation.
