betting on a yuan appreciation.
B. Chinese banks' quotas for short-term foreign debt would be reduced
to 45 per cent of the 2006 level by 30 June and then to 30 per cent by
March next year.
C. For foreign banks, initially, the reduction would be 85 per cent and
then 60 per cent.
D. The new policies are aimed at supervising and better managing the
short term foreign debt inflows.

A. In the recent budget art works have been brought under the ambit of
capital gains tax.
B. This change is not about artists; rather, it is dependant on the type of
art.
C. Art works have always been considered personal assets under the
Income Tax Act and hence not subject to capital gains tax.
D. It is the bigger names on which there will be a quantum jump in gains
and it is not expected to have a significant effect on art prices.
E. So art will now be officially classified as a capital asset and not as a
personal asset.
