First, since it is an equilateral triangle. The figure is symmetrical.
=> Area( ADQ) = Area(BPE) = Area(FRC) = X (say)
Also, Area(BDQP) = Area(PECR) = Area(AQRF) = Y (say)

Area (PQR) = a

=> 3X + 3Y + a = A(area of ABC)

Now, since CD divides AB in ratio 1:2 , the ratio Area(ADC) / Area(DCB) = 1/2

=> 2X+Y / (2Y + X + A) = 1/2 => a = 3X

Now join BQ, Area (BDQ) / Area(ADQ) = 2/1 => Area of BQE = Y - X

Now, in triangle BQC,
Area(BQE) / Area(QEC) = 1/2

=> (Y-X) / (a + Y) = 1/2 => Y = 5X

Now, this gives A = 21X = 7a => a/A = 1/7 .. Phew ! .. Shorter approach is welcome !
