I have a question for seniors, I have narrowed down my MBA specialization options to Operations and finance. Given that i have worked at a manufacturing unit, my job included things like material management, SAP, planning, a bit about inventory management so is my profile suitable for Operations field? As regards to finance i dont have any experience but i have read a bit about the basics of financial management. Do you all think it is right to go ahead with these 2 options?

any detail how many have been shortisted for WAT PI like hw IIMA gave

do you have a fb group?

 CAT score:

QA: 99.96

VA: 99.81

X: 94 (CBSE)

XII: 93.6 (CBSE)

Graduation: 8.32/10 CGPA

I have a query that can we use our previous (good) cat scores as a positive point, or it is advised to avoid mentioning about it. I got 99.9+ in last two attempts also, but got L first time, and didn't try second time, but this time I want to convert ABC. Please help on how should I present my profile in a better way.

Also, I am inclined towards consultancy/operations domain,  so should I go with my inclination or one which matches my profile more, something like IT management?

@sysman : I have very low grad score(55%). Did my first start up in college which failed but running the present one successfully. Do you think grad will be deciding factor in my case? Also does simultaneous job and start up decreases the credibility of the start up in itself?

Hi seniors:

I couldn't get a call. OA: 96.2 , Qa- 92, VA -97...Category NCOBC, 10th 91.2, 12th - 63.2.... Has 12th been the factor??

Has anyone found the application form on their website? if yes pls share the link..

IIM C wishes us to fill an application form and submit it online in order to participate in the PI and AWT rounds on or before January 9. But I can't find the link to this form on their website. If someone finds it, can you please upload the link in the comments section.

Official FB group will be started once the WAT-PI emails are sent. This will be done by Jan 9th. Same day, the mentorship emails will be sent.

I will have 4.5 years of exp ( 6 months as design engineer , 2 years in Material management and 2 years in project management on site for Power sector) at the time of PIs . What kind of questions can i expect ? regular vs executive might be one i guess. What can be an apt reply for same?

I don't have much of extra acads. Is that going to play a major role in IIM C interview??

Some nuggets of info:

Hobbies & Interest: Love playing Cricket , Basket Ball and practicing Boxing. I also spend my leisure time watching movies.

Query: I wanted to know what are the best sources(apart from newspaper) to study for major current events in detail & basic economic terms that can be asked ? Moreover, I have not secured good marks in economics based subjects during B-tech , how can I justify that I have interest in it going by the fact that the way papers are checked in UPTU is pathetic ?

Query:

As per as my GPA is concerned it's not good at all when compared to other students of JU which the interviewers have already faced in past.So how to defend myself in this area.I don't have any major project while I am in college, only 1 mandatory project I've undertaken. Heard IIM C interviewers are rather cooler compared to IIM A and B.If it is true I can defend myself, otherwise can anybody guide me through this predicament?

I started a business while I was in college that is Nov'13. But I got graduated in May'14. In my CAT form I filled my work ex to be 9 months that is from Nov'13 to Aug'14. But I just saw that the work ex is counted after graduation according to which it should have been 3 months only. Does that mean my candidature is nullified now.

Can anything be done to correct this mistake?

Query: I do not have much in the way of extra curricular; certifiable, I mean. In fact, I have pretty much nothing, being the lazy boy I am. My CAT score is also pretty mediocre (just cleared the cut-off). So the lack of extra curricular is bugging me to no end. Everyone I know to have converted IIM calls have had such amazing stuff in their CVs. How do I defend myself?

Query:

1. First thing you can see is my CAT percentile. It seems mine is the last percentile to be called in NC OBC Male Engineer category. Will that cost me much? How good are my realistic chances of conversion?

2. I'm interested in Operations specialization. Is it good to stress much on this in interview? Or will interviewers try to evaluate us on general MBA?
