As per my understanding...... if SEBI sticks to it prestated cut off of 16 in each section.... then cut off may go down... in the range of 100 to 110 if the prerequsites of sectional cutoffs is done away with then cut off might go up to 120.......

SEBI has made it clear in the Noti that min 40% marks have to be secured in every section. Now, a random thought.. Can it be inferred that the cut off may be higher than that actually in these sections.. For example, if SEBI gets more ppl than required with 16 marks in each section, it may decide to increase sec cut off also, isn't it? Well, this may be done by increasing over all cut off also, but given the fascination that SEBI has for Sec cut off (they have included it in noti itself ;)), they may go for this also... P.S. Just a Random thought...

Factors that will skyrocket the General stream-general category cutoffs-

1. Easy paper (Quant-reason-eng-GS wrt last year SEBI and SM too was reasonably easy for those who had prepared)

2. With respect to RBI 2018 – SEBI notification clearly mentions only 1:10 ratio for selection to phase-2 (As against 1:21 in RBI this year.) So only 800 candidates would be selected for phase-2 in general stream. Also 80 vacancies as against 127 in RBI

3. With respect to SEBI 2017 – First time SEBI grade A opened to candidates of all backgrounds in 2018- so competition definitely higher.


Factors that may restrict very high cutoff-

1. 40% sectional cutoffs (16/40) may flunk out many candidates. 

2. Vacancies more than tripled (80) compared to SEBI 2017 (24-general stream)

One good thing about this 16 marks criteria is that there will least difference between the cutoffs of reserved and unreserved
