Done with the interview......

Interview was mostly based on work ex.....

Started with the 'tell something about your education and work ex...

Asked deeply about urban cooperative banks...like their dual control nature, grievance handling between state and RBI...

About SEBI....sebi amendment act....

FPI & FII ...

Credit rating ......

Which will u join RBI or SEBI...

what r ure strengths....

The people were very cordial in SEBi....And instead of saying the famous line ' chair bhi nahi pilaya', I will say 'chai k sath kaju bhi khilaya'. :P

Most of the people today were RBI mains attending people.

My interview was yesterday... Started with tell me about yourself. why  SEBI, why did you leave your previous job, what are you doing in your current job, what value will you add to SEBI, how did you prepare for this interview? Name some type of securities frauds and explain them? Questions on few recent initiatives from SEBI, Questions on corporate governance? They tested how much I knew on each topic and stopped when I was either comfortable answering those questions or when I said I don't know.... It was an okayish interview

I am amazed to look at the range of technical questions asked. I must confess that I felt that the interview was rather plain and boring for me. I was rather disappointed, and didn't feel like sharing my experience, as that would have disappointed most of the folks, especially the ones with low scores (and practically most of the folks are at barely 4-5 marks above the cutoffs). Anyways, now lets see what the result has to say. As far as my opinion goes on the basis of the interviews conducted on 3rd Dec, I felt that most of the folks had a decent stint, giving me a feedback that they were not taking this recruitment that seriously, may be because this was backlog filling exercise. I didn't see the rigor. I was barely asked 5-6 techie questions and about 20-25 HR questions. I am very fond of the HR ones and can go 100 questions without sweating, but am scared to technical questions, I dodges any and every related to my present or previous jobs (it was fun), and then got to the securities market thingy. I guess based on my answering 2-3 questions well enough, they wanted to pin me down on HR questions. Well since I was candidate no 17 and I had practically seen 16 candidates go inside and come out with the same experience of HR oriented questions I knew the drill. Since we were not allowed to talk and ours was a pussy panel, we didn't know much about the exact questions asked. But u know what the panels like. It was a panel concerned more about the HR things. Much different that the scary 2013 panel. Well what can I say. I actually wanted a harsh and grilling interview. I guess everyone should have a fair chance even those who are at the cutoffs. Anyways. See u guys in SEBI 😃

Guys, can we expect results by Friday?

I hear a lot of Deficity-Delhi Easy-Mumbai interview or Incompetent-Delhi and Competent-Mumbai theories. Well, it is ture that last time only 20 out of 75 odd candidates from Delhi converted whereas in Mumbai 20 out of just 40 candidates converted. That is twice a ratio. It is not a coincidence. But my theory is that Mumbai has better Fin FOCUSED folks than Delhi has. I won't be wrong in saying that in 2013 interview literally every person I asked said was preparing for UPSC. If this was RBI, things woul have been different. But SEBI ? I mean with the whole compulsory Masters thing, I though there will more Directly interested candiates. But NO. I guess Mumbai is different. No UPSC meverick will waste his/her time in Mumbai. You find relatively more Fin focused guys. This time though I found lot of competent folks in Delhi. They were all working somewhere good, many in fin/banking sectors. Best of luck to all guys. Lets see a normalization in selections by geography this time.

ST candidate plz post your marks here, we will get an idea about our chances to get selected considering everyone's interview was okayish.

You can post your marks by any name.
